| The sound hasn't been on point this year really. I keep going with optimism and what not but this year it was kind of a let down. I've been to all 8, last year it was all good times n good music. Can't really fault the promoter for the DJs letting me down but the bookings haven't really been my thing either. The streak lives on though. Not going to second guess skipping an event now unless the line up is like 3/4ths in my favour |

Pretty disappointing to hear that Hot Since 82 didn't deliver but it further reinforced my decision to not go to this. I was pretty peeved about the Seth Troxler no show for Civic Holiday and furthermore with how these promotors handled the situation by barely not even mentioning it.
Along with the souund issues and how they're also just completely clamping down on weed too at these things, I feel Coda and their partners are pretty classless. Look at the way they run their club...creating unnecessary lineups, not letting TICKET HOLDERS inside, and again with the weed issue at their club, I just feel these guys suck. FFS let ppl blaze, pretty much every other venue lets it go. I'm surprised to hear there were issues at the ferry lineup, because they've never had problems with that before.
It just sucks they bring some of the best talent around but I can't support this dictarship and we're honestly to blame for this with the way we keep on promoting these events ourselves on this msg board and other areas. |

Skipped EI completely, I skipped last labour day EI as well... im developing a streak lol
Went to the afterparty thou, I got in at 12:30ish and it was pretty ing good.... than it slowed down around 130ish for a bout 30mins... picked right back up around 2 if im not mistaken... there were a few mixes i wasnt really grooving too... but overal these guys did great and the crowd loved them...
The biggest complaint about Coda (other than the lines, usually worest in the city and im including top 40 clubs, not bad that night) is they never allow the headliner to play "one more track"... that really does bother me....
Hot Since 82 didnt play the after party which sucked because me and the gf really do dig his sound... from what I heard he showed up and was feeling "ill"...
anyone going to Maison 2nyte to catch Art Department? I'm going, and i need tixs does anybody know a promoter to grab tixs off of???
one last note, Lee Foss is playing Sunday night at Everleigh (i think)... for a TIFF party, may head out to that as well.... before taking a break till John Digweed.... |
