Yeah, Live works perfectly with W10.
Come to think of it, I haven't come across a single program that doesn't. |

So Play-Asia are now selling US$24.99 OEM Windows 10 keys. While there have been other Asian websites that have offered OEM keys from third-party providers, as well as ebay, you'll probably feel safer buying from a more popular store.
>> Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 32/64-bit, OEM (KEY + DL)
(Above is my affiliate link)
OEM means the Windows key will be tied to your motherboard and can't be transferred after activation. You will be able to swap other major system components like the cpu & gpu, however. |

10 is ok I guess, but the forced updates are really pissing me off though.
My laptop was plagued with a history of buggy Intel drivers, so when Intel finally released a working beta driver Microsoft kept force-installing the older buggy driver. I had to download a hack to disable updates. ing stupid really. |

Laptop is already running W10 for 7 months. Working well.
Just did a clean install of W10 (skipping upgrade step) my DAW pc to W10 without any issue. Firewire and audio seemably working well where it had issues in W7 with default settings. |

God...the thoughts of reinstalling everything  |
Thanks for the reminder; I need to do the update on my laptop. Timing sucks though, I'm about to leave for Europe and really don't have time to do the install :(
@storyteller How did you activate w10 without doing the upgrade? When I did it 7 months ago, it wouldn't activate from a fresh install, you have to convert your w7 or w8 key to a w10 key by going through an update and only then could you wipe and do a fresh install using that new key? |

I did some googling today and found an article on it. Worked like a treat. Basically you generate an XML file which maps your current license to a W10 license. Then you install W10 using the USB or DVD. Put the xml in the right place, reboot and your copy is licensed. Already possible since sept 2015 apparently.

256 samples like i always run
seems like its a problem with z3ta, its hogging CPU - was never any issue under win7 :( |

Mebbe turn off the synth's FX. And just use global FX in your mixer sends.
That will give you better performance.
Any synth VST you use, turn off its preset FX and use your mixer sends for FX instead. Specially reverb which can be cpu-intensive. |
