This is like a fight from the good ole days
Jen is one of those people who have to tell you how right they are and how everyone else's opinion is wrong. She seems to be always looking for opportunity to take it out on someone here.
I wouldn't be surprised a lot of church goers are there for non spiritual reasons. I've never cared for church people because they rarely practice what they preach. |

Lol, true but I gotta say, I find myself agreeing with R5a and IGK; you can't really ignore the religious aspect of going to church.
I know people who go that are only slightly religious becuase of the community, even business connections, but they're still happy clappers when it comes down to it..
I find it bizarre that someone would think of going to church and pretend they're only there for the social aspect, as you're still spending what, an hour or three listening to sermons, and singing about the lord. You can't really separate one from the other.
I reckon she want to go to church for both but is just being childish about admitting it for fear she'll get bashed. |

Well that hating part might have been a slight exaggeration.. I like my job on some days; when I work alone on my independent project, and some days I don't like it too much; when I have to communicate more with others. It's just somehow amazingly tiresome at my workplace to run all your ideas through someone you don't see so competent.
As to switching jobs or going solo, I am kind of in a situation where half of my work is my dream and half of it not so much. If I went on to pursue my dream as an independent again, I wouldn't get to that situation very quickly if ever, I think.
Didn't you switch from audio engineering or something (which I assume was your "dream") to something else you do now?

I get on well with the people in my new job. I wouldn't say I'm chasing my dream in this career or anything like that, but I definitely have a good laugh at work, which means I don't dread going there every morning. Often, the people you're working with and vibe of the workplace is as important to job satisfaction as the nature of the work itself. |
I don't want to make friends of my coworkers because I get to know them enough at work. If their besserwisserism or lagrangianism is part of their free time personality too, I don't want to have another me as a friend of mine. That and the fact that I would probably ruin either the work side or the friend side of the relationship somehow, affecting the other one. All this doesn't mean I don't get along with them on some level. Things could be better though.
The best workdays are the remote ones, when I work from home with just my girlfriend and our cat. If that's because of the personalities at the workplace or just me, I haven't figured out yet. |
