Well, what i learned from WEMF 2003 is that although we say peace love unity respect, ravers are the biggest polluters on the planet. holy . we left trudeau's park in a mess, if you drove thru the park today, you would think it was a landfill.

awesome party, BT was amazing. so was fijneman and Orkidea. when orkidea played Live Another Life i was in heaven:D:D:D:D pretty much, couldnt stop dancing all night saturday. the only thing that sucked was the fact that it was indoors and it was hot as hell and they wouldnt let alot of people in the place. lineups were ty. and aside from the rain on saturday, the weather was good.

in conclusion, wemf == good times

sorry have to disagree with you on that one. Only went on saturday and I must say it was ok, but it was nothing like it should have been.

first off the rooms, MY GOD, 60C with a few hundred in the main room sweating and dancing was absolutley retarded, a niceley placed fan was all that was there, and 1 open window, and the doors to the patio, but it didn't matter. But I think the kicker was that, once you made it upstairs you have to stay up there, or bear an hour or more in a line just to get to the upstairs part. So thats why I took all my in a backpack. I got upstairs, goin between rooms some BITCH searches my backpack, I was pretty pissed cause I was already searched and was already INSIDE, so the 2nd time after she was RUDE AS to everyone I told her I hid my weed better, and walked the fuk out of that.

What was with the psytrance room, 60C but that was when there were not many people there either, hidden away in the corner, with 12 year old girls gaurding the washroom?!??!!?!?!? WTF. Tribe had the best area, but not my type of music, I heard they played good on saturday night late there, but no good after you already puked and sweated your fukin nuts off. I didn't want to be there anymore I wanted to be at the car smoking weed or something, I would have had a better time sitting there with the discman and a joint then inside the main room. But I guess thats because I wasin't HIGH I was just there to listen to some good tunes. Seems like they catered to the people who wouldn't notice how hot and sweaty they are. Like fuk, I've been to 100 DIRTY clubs and that pretty much took the cake. It wasin't fun to be dancing.

But as always there are good points. The people who live there were all nice and welcoming. The WEMF visitors were always fun, nice, and interesting as normal. And to the guys with the cubevans!!!! Rock on!
You made the party.

Also, who was on the outdoor stage showing a video about responsible partying?? My girlfriend was over there later on on saturday and I wasin't with her, when we came back you had already left. I would very much like to talk to you about the video, so if anyone has any contact info or if you are that person, please PM me. I hear its a great video.

it was overall not bad other than the bad indoor rooms (very fookin hot, was solved when i stood rite by the stage) and the nasty environment (VERY NASTY..) ... cor put up a good show!!
Dr. Z
The Bad : The Ginos and the Thugs were in full force.

The Good : The music, the DJs, & the Raver's love.

This was my first WEMF and it was such a ing great experience!

The shuttle bus down to trudeau park was better than I thought it would be. Met some cool people on there, they were all very friendly and tried to make the most out of a 2 1/2 hour bus ride.
We got their around 2:30 and walked for about a half hour looking for tent space (I think we walked around the main oval road about 4 times :stongue: ). So we set up and talked with some of our neighbours from Michigan.

The lineup for friday night didn't feature any of the headliners so we didn't really know what to expect. Let me just start by saying I've never really gotten into Jungle/DnB, but I just couldn't stop dancing in the lounge that night! next we checked out Aponaut's live pa, VERY awseme stuff. Very trancy and a good vibe in the room. The rest of the night was back to the lounge for some pounding tech-breaks by Catchin Wreck w/Lush & Natural MC, followed by a bangin set by Drag'n'fly. I eventually made my way back to the main room but it was just too damn hot and I was getting a little tired. (btw, there were 9 air conditioners in the main room, not 1).

Woke up a little after 9am to check out Fuzion's set. All the rooms had about 10 ppl in it at this point so it was hard to get into it. Met up with Nathalie and Dallas afterwards and they showed us to the TA tent site and chilled their for a while with some other TAs (I'm not gonna try and name everyone I met all weekend, it's a lost cause :p you know who you are).

Back to the muzak!...went to the main room at 6pm to check out Greg Gow...wasn't very impressed, it was fairly soft. Kenny Glasgow came on after and threw down an awseme hard set! Went outside towards the end of his set (to get some air!) to see a lineup of 100 or so people trying to get into the music room :nervous:
I don't think I saw Hatiras' set but definetely caught KENNY KEN & CAPITAL J!!! The room was full of sweaty people (now I know why jungalists carry a towel everywhere...to wipe the sweat off their face!), and the music was POUNDING! (litterally). the ground was shaking beneath us and I was lovin it...I don't think i've danced that hard in my life. one minute of dancing and you're covered in sweat. Capital J threw down a phenominal set...this was DEFINETELY one of the highlights of my weekend.

Next came Rap :tongue3 ... I caught about a half hour of her set and liked what I was hearing till I just had to get out and grab something to eat. big mistake. Came back to a huge lineup and Cor Fijneman was about to start! I could hear Beautiful Things by Andain being played (what remix was that?) and i was so pissed I wasn't in their to hear it. Finally got in and Cor was delivering the goods. Pounding trance with long buildups :D ... he finished it off with As The Rush Comes (im sure you're all sick to death of this song but it's still my fav) and what a feeling it was to hear everyone around you singing along with big smiles on their faces.

On came BT who started things off with a live mix of Blur - Song 2. This guy really knew how to work up the crowd. Very bangin (more than I expected from BT) and a very interessting set that was finished up with flaming june!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *enough said* :D
Orkidea was up next and started right where BT left off. great track selection (not quite as good as his set from viva in feb) and very uplifting. Dancing pretty much non-stop which left my legs aching when I got to the tribe kitchen where Mike was spinning. It was a VERY hard trancy set that would have absolutely killed me if I were dancing to it. Some tracks in particular I would love to know, I barely recognized any songs.

That was basically the end of the weekend. Woke up around 10am and the bus was sitting their waiting...sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to everyone but the next bus didn't come for another hour or so and I looked like and smelled like (shower afterwards was SO refreshing).

the only things I would've changed is to have the music outdoors. My only complaint but it wasn't Destiny's fault as it was originally intended to be in Bobcaygen.

Met a lot of TAs (new ones too), couple people i knew from work/old school and tons of new people from all over the world! (UK and States mainly). I took a couple pics and lots of videos but can't host them so add me on msn: [email protected] if you want to see them (or email me).

i enjoyed myself

i was drunk about 80% of the time.. the last 20% being during the process of getting drunk and sobering up before the drive home.

hehe

i was just mad at how small the main room was and how hot it was. but overall it was good times!

I'll start off with saying that the place was packed with theifs. Some bastards slashed two of my friend's family tents. Wonderful folk did it on Saturday, when it was raining. Needless to say, we couldn't really sleep in them anymore. To our luck, nothing was stolen 'coz nothing was in them. From our neighbours, however, Vinyl collection and $200 car keys were stolen.

The S.W.A.T. team that was driving around is for the show really. Once again, the whole thing about the room being as hot as hell was a real bummer. Even though I missed Dj RAP and half of the Cor sets due to the long lines, I had the whole experience with BT!!! As a Dj, he was working very hard and seemed really friendly. Cor was great and all, but my only complain is that it almost seemed like I was listning to Tiesto's Nyana disk 2. Still deciding if it was great or what

Some more negative points: the $20 parking permit was a surprise which I didn't anticipate. And the so called "the beach" was rather pathetic. I was expectiong at least a Mussleman lake beach, but that was not even. Nevertheless, my friend and I took a dip and the water was GREAT!

As for people, everybody seemed really friendly on Friday. A lot of freaks out there and thats the way I like it. The guys on Tilts, our neighbours were really cool and that was preaty much all of my pictures for the event.

SOme crazy bug bit me on Friday so my hand swelled up. By saturday, the first aid people(very nice people) put a huge bandage on my hand. So if you've seen somebody Asian with his hand covered in white bandage, then it was me. It was not out of COOLNESS!!!! God, everybody asked me about it. Even the cops had an interegation about it.

Overall, like one of the girls there said, WEMF is a great event. But there are two problems with great events. One being corporate greed and another being Organization. Organizational part was messed up with the Squash rooms and BINGO Halls venues. I knot nothing aobut corp greed so i won't say anything.

Didn't have the courage to approatch the TAs area even though I saw your great poster guys. Everybody seemed to have too much fun there without me. Maybe next time @ Viva for Edgar V!

Can soembody tell me if that really skinny OLD man with a GUITAR was the Owner of the complex? I keept thinking "The biggest Red Neck I've seen in my life." He was screaming at us while we were trying to sneak into the main floor by the back stairs which were LOCKED damn it.

Hm... what else is there! Oh yeah!! BT!!! He played DREAMING! WHEE!!! And the BLUR's song was great. It even started off my trance hating friend. It was all worth the while. Anywas, enough with my bashing and my long essay. Somebody please write something possitive, and as for me, i'm still pisssed at the theifs.

Just wanted to say that I ended up having a great time with all you TAs @ WEMF (my first one!). Although I too was totally disgusted by the garbage everywhere, Sunday morning from midnight on was a total blast in the main room (and Mike in the Tribe room!), and I just wanted to say thank you!!!! You're all very welcoming (yeah, I know I'm being PLUR-ey too!), and it probably would have been a heck of a lot lonelier without you all - so thanks to Nat, Az, Dell, Mike, Jenna, Ray, Rodger, Ryan, Dalice, Tommy, Rob, Tara, Matt, Vinder, Dalice, Barry, Rich, Mirza, and the rest of the gang for the great company and hugs!!!! (sorry if I'm forgetting people's names - have slept only 7 hours over the last 3 nights!)

Must sleep, but hope to see you some of you this coming Friday night @ System...
Luv,
Erika
