WHY CANT YOU FORGET?--- because this was the biggest act of terrorism. This affected the world.. not just the US.. and we can't forget because we as a world not just a nation need to do our part in fighting terrorism. Here there and everywhere... you don't have to celebrate 9/11 with us.. hell you don't even have to acknowledge it like you are here...
But do remember it could happen to you. You could wake up one morning and find out some plane right above your head purposely crashed into your mothered and burned her to a crisp as perhaps her last breath of air whisper "I love you" even if you couldn't hear it!
Remember because a car bomb could drive straight through your bedroom wall and you might watch your girlfriend die in your arms beside you as you burn to a crisp and scream as well..
Remember because some guy you saw at your gym that you thought looked like someone the cops are looking for on TV and you didn't say anything and now he happens to be the guy standing in your local super market and decides to blow himself up in there along with your best friend who was getting some flowers and a cake for your birthday!
get the point... you don't have to celebrate but don't curse it either cuz if it was your mom, dad, friend or daughter you'd want people to at least show a little respect...

If I could only forget the events that shattered my life that day maybe I wouldn't be so quick to argue and post any mean or cruel remarks towards you for disrespecting the horror we in the states have faced. I helped with the 9/11 clean up at the Pentegon... and I've watched children cry as they had to watch a casket of their mom's things (not even her) be buried. I'd like to appologize for any offense I posted towards you... I'm a single mom of three adorable kids now because of 9/11 only my husband didn't die... he's part of the military.. never the less its horrible! And now with IRAQ.. i live each day wondering if he's okay or will be coming home.. for me this is emmotional and I pray you never have to experience the deaths we have or losses we've endured...

yes, that was as serious as our school shootings
and everyone else bringing up like USA was unjustified for attacking Iraq, Please tell me what the that has to do anything with people dying in the WTC on 9/11 (and yes its 9/11 not 11/09 nuts)

this thread literally makes me want to vomit. i hope i never visit austrailia, because it is filled with some of the worlds cruelest people.
we never said that people dont die every day in other countries. the reason why it was such a big deal for the U.S. was because it was so unexpected. i realize that wars have been going on all over the world, with hundreds of (innocent) people dying each day. does it make it right? no. but those wars are EXPECTED in some countries, not the U.S.
now all you ignorant pricks can say that "americans need to get over it" but i highly doubt you would be saying that if a similiar tragedy happened. i'm beginning to think none of you even KNOW what really happened, because you are acting like americans are obsessed with playing the victims. well you know what? 9/11 made us victims. so if you don't understand that cuz you are so self-absorbed and filled with so much hatred for america, then just keep your mouth shut entirely. if the same thing happened to austrailians, i would still mourn, even for a year or 2 after that. i dont think our remembering the horror makes us stuck in the past.
you people need to realize what you are saying. who cares if it was americans, who cares if you even hate americans? you should care because 2800 HUMANS lost their lives...if you don't, then you obviously don't care about the welfare of humanity.
