i have THE utmost respect for people of all countries, please stop making it look like i have bad intentions. just because i am defending my country to some of the horrible things that people have said in here, does not make me some nazi.

then stop being so damn self-centred and get it into your head that other countries have attacks made every day on them, not just america, sheesh!

Sure 2 years ago there was a tragedy and 2800 people lost their lives, but in the 2 subsequent wars america has perpetrated on innocent nations (afghanistan - purely to oust an islamic regime from power, and iraq - oil, need i say more...) how many thousands of innocent civilians have died from american bombs and bullets???

When is their memorial day??? :whip: :whip: :whip:

the only reason why i brought this up because TODAY IS SEPTEMBER 11th. is it the anniversary of the bali bombings? no. when it is, i will grieve too.

tell me bud, you will grieve on the anniversary of the bali bombings? what date were they on, bro? and when will you be grieving?

i sure as hell know i wont be grieving, i'll go to the pub, watch the news and footage of people going to bali and putting flowers down, i will think "oh yeah, todays the anniversary" then i'll say respect, sit down and carry on with my life

that is what people do... they GET OVER IT

September 11 was one big popularity building exercise for George W Bush. He followed in his fathers footsteps in trying to eradicate Saddam Hussein...again...he achieved nothing. The Jews now are starting to take more of Palestine back than they previously were because all media attention was focused on Iraq and Afghanistaa in that time. It's amazing that they can suicide themselves to death in that region, but, George W Bush says "oh, it's their problem they need to deal with it themselves"....funny that he won't step in to control that conflict. September 11 unfortunately has been deviously planned and a shame people are so easily led to believe what the Americans label the truth. Not sure if you remember correctly when George W Bush was going to be elected, but, Aleck Baldwin who is in politics said that if George W Bush were to be elected he will leave the USA for good. I mean, at that time George W Bush had a lot to prove to a lot of people especially the majority of Americans that he has been able to brainwash with his retaliatory attacks on both Afghanistan and Iraq. All of a sudden Saddam was the focus after September 11, I thought Osama Bin Laden was supposed to be or was it some guy 'labelled' Osama sitting in a Hollywood Studio. If you ask me, (if reading this wasn't enough) it's all bull and you're a sucker to fall for it. Get on with life, it definately is too short! my 50c.....you don't like it....that's your problem! Say hi to your mum for me.

Anyone for tennis?

just to add something about why i dont live in the past -

generally when its a "memorial day" of sorts down here i go to the pub drink, respect etc etc.. i dont do it every memorial day tho, just to give an idea why

16th of March 1968 - My Lai Massacre
15th of April, 1912 - Titanic Sunk
15th of April, 1989 - Hillsborough Disaster
19th of April, 1994 - Oklahoma bombing
25th of April, ???? - Anzac Day
28th of April, 1996 - Port Arthur Massacre
29th of May, 1985 - Heysel disaster
31st of July, 1997 - Thredbo disaster
12th of October, 2002 - Bali Bombings
15th of August, 1998 - Omagh Bombing

if i were to go out drinking on each of these days, do you have any idea of just how poor i'd be at the end of april?!?!?

yes, that was as serious as our school shootings

and everyone else bringing up like USA was unjustified for attacking Iraq, Please tell me what the that has to do anything with people dying in the WTC on 9/11 (and yes its 9/11 not 11/09 nuts)
Im finished talking with stupid people, consider this my last post on the aussie forum, there is no valuable input from anyone here.

exactly what i was going to say. Can you guys honestly tell us the date of the bali bombings without doing a search o google? i highly doubt it because you would have gotten a 2 mins coverage in your news(crap) and then moved onto something else. now why do you guys keep saying "you would know if if happend to you"? we explani that it did happen to us but you guys are shrugging it off. NOW THAT IS BEING HYPOCRITICAL, You guys are forcing us to remember an event and thjen turnaround and say like the bali bombings were no worse then what happend at you local school. well you because we rememeber september 11 because when it happend for the nexrt month every free to air channel was the unfolding events @ the world trade centre What happend has happend people rememnber but dont ex[ect them to care just like we dont expect you to care about our tragidys.

Isn't it funny how the 9-11 attacks are the same number as the police emergency number in USA....

sorry i'm bored :p

BUT seriously i have to agree with the aussies here, if the US mongers weren't so hypocritical and selfish once in a while, it would have some kinda friend....

most of my thoughts on the issue have already been laid out throughout the thread, however, whether the foreigners here in this forum are able to absorb what's been said is another question altogether. understandably so at times though, as a happening so close to home, and for those directly affected will be blinded by a cauldron of emotion, sadness, hatred, helplessness, anger. and it is understandable. it is not the loss of lives that is the issue. we are all human, and we will grieve and mourn for one life, let alone 3000.

however, it is at times irritating, the "american attitude". Sept 11th, is a day remembered for human loss, an attack of world freedom, an attack of humanity. is this not how it was imposed? as mentioned, what about other prev/past instances? where is the compassion for the loss of human life there? where are the memorial days? i remember having used to lead a somewhat inane lifestyle during the time of occurance of the bali bombings and would often tune in to the "today news". but barely once, did i see a mention of that "attack of humanity", that attack of "world freedom". need i even mention the "attacks of humanity" that the american government has committed over the years, let alone recently? not a word spoken about those. [political, but america, the biggest terrorists of all disguised by the cloak of politics?] now why is that. when yanks come down to aus, often they're amazed and in awe of the attitudes and lifestyle, "laid back, relaxed and every so friendly". now i begin to wonder, whether this is really the case, or americans, just perhaps "self-absorbed".

as escee has pointed out, actions do speak louder than words. if you are all as compassionate about human life as you say you are, of all nationalities and races, either create threads for every instance in which an "attack of humanity" has been performed upon. or move on.
show your rememberance and respect by waking up each morning, realising life is a gift. value all those around you and learn to cherish 'living' each n every minute. that, in my opinion, is the largest form of 'memorial/respect' anybody is able to show.

It's amazing how only 2600 odd people only died in the incident considering at that time 50,000 people occupy the tower(s)....seems that somebody must have known what was going on.....and it was funny to see that the people that survived were late to work, slept in, had to drop the kids to school etc...and the ones that I saw them interviewing were all jewish. I'm no sucker for consipracy theories but it all stacks up...come on let's just be friends and all love trance, and abolish prog. hahahaha......there is politics everywhere, we can't escape it.
