pongolle aint that bad, he will not fall over when he gains some more strength, most pens hes got are fair ones.

and for owen diving that i have never seen.
tho we have a little african player of the year that tried and tries again.
oh and calling shearer a diver?? WTF!

and xavier, letallec and pongolle have been a been nothing more than a breath of fresh air for the team. so id like too see more talents like that signed. whould you have let em slip away and let arsenal or man utd get ahold of em? as they where the other ones hunting em.

doubt there will be any more signings. if they havent tossed some more money into the transfer money, i seriously doubt it will happend.
i say we trade heskey cheyruo and diao(god i hate that guy) for cisse. :D

Also i hear man utd are trying too sign cisse. if so this his time too see if he really dreams of playing for the reds.

torontotrance you forget these guys are entertainers, pretty plays entertain more. tho i agree with you that goals count nomatter what. too win and "win" the crowd you kinda need too find something in middle of pretty plays and sheer effectiveness.

There was alot of angry people when houllier played his defencive style cuz it wasnt entertaining enough, but it worked too some degree.

but anyways im tired ill go sleep. if i misunderstood any of you tell me so.

IMO Sinama Pongolle theres only one penalty this season where I am sure he dived. All the other penalties that his earned is because defenders cant handle Pongolle pace, so they take a foot out or tug his shirt, so of course his gonna go down naturally.

Gerrard is gonna miss this week's midweek clash against Chelski through injury. So I hope Hamann plays well and of course all of the redmen. I hope Houllier doesnt pull out a weird and odd substitution.

Don't worry, I read that Cisse just signed a pre-contract with Liverpool for next season and he absolutly wants to play for the Reds and no other team. :)

cool ive heard cisse is signed and hes having his medical testing next week.

:D :D :D

That's good for Cisse but at this time, the Reds have to concentrate on the current season in order to get a Champions League ticket.

If they finish 5th at the last day, they'll lose Owen! :D

Anyone watch the Yeovil game, i hear the first half was a bit of a shocker.. imagine if wed lost that game, Houllier would almost be certainly on his way out then.

Did anyone else hear the rumours of Martin o Neill replacing Houllier? I quite rate O' Neill and thought that he was gonna go to United when Ferguson origionally decided he was gonna leave United 2 seasons ago!! Think hed be a good replacement for Houllier if we dont make champions league this season... what dyu think?

The first half Yeovil were certainly the better side, forcing a couple of good saves (one of them vital) from Dudek. Liverpool's defending was appalling, and that's coming from a Newcastle fan. Henchoz was struggling at right back and allowed Yeovil to pump in way too many crosses. The marking for those crosses was also terrible and with better finishing this could have been embarrassing for Liverpool. The second half began the same way as the first, Yeovil were fired up and harrassing Liverpool's full backs and for 10 minutes they looked the most likely to score. But from then on Liverpool finally got their act together and started to slow the game down with possession play. Gradually Yeovil were tiring and Liverpool just ran through them for Heskey's goal with 20 minutes to go, although it was a well taken finish. Despite their dominance late on Liverpool continued cynical attempts at gaining free kicks/pens. Pongolle and Diouf had been at it all game with some very theatrical falls, but it was Kewell who dropped under minimal contact on the edge of the box to finally get Liverpool a pen. A very harsh pen in my book but the game was officiated by the most incompetent ref in the Premiership. Murphy tucked the pen away and the game was sealed with 13 minutes to go.

Not a great day for Liverpool, Kewell was surprisingly anonymous, Diouf saw a lot of the ball but produced little and Henchoz looked very uncomfortable at right back. In the end Liverpool's superiority won it, but it took them a long time to gain the upper hand. Had Heskey not scored a neat goal on 70 minutes it could still have gone any way.

I knew well before the match, that we were gonna struggle heaps...I dunno what Henchoz was doing at Right back, but I've learned to accept the fact thats Gerrard Houillier for you :D

I had no idea why Ostemobor wasnt even on the team sheet, he deserved his spot instead of Traore.

This would of been a good match to at least put Owen on the field for a few minutes after recovering from injury, to get him back match fitness for Wednesday's fixture against Chelski at Stalin Bridge. Owen like Ostemobor wasn't even on the team sheet.

Gerard Houllier has shot down weekend reports that French striker Djibril Cisse has already completed a medical at Melwood and has signed a pre-contract deal to move to Anfield for #14m.

A weekend of wild speculation had many sources claiming the Auxerre star had already signed for Liverpool but Houllier dismissed the stories as untrue.

"One report said he had come for a medical on Decemeber 22 and neither myself or the medical team were in Liverpool then," insisted the Liverpool boss. "He has not signed a pre-contract agreement, but he wants to. At this stage what has been said about Djibril Cisse coming to Liverpool is not true but that does not mean it won't be in the future."

Reminds me of how Kewell became a red. This time last year there were a few small rumours about Kewell, and Houllier dismissed it, and then a few months later in June/July there were rumours of him going to Arsenal but apparently he had his sights on Liverpool for months!
