0-0 bit dissapointing i think especially as we dominated the majority of the match.. desperately needing cisse signing i think, he scored yesterday for auxerre. Either that or need owen back to form. As for dropping murphy for cheyrou, i think Houllier did the right thing cos cheyrous got 4 out of 5 goals and you dont drop a player on form.

i want too ask steven gerrard how on earth he managed too miss all those chances...
PacMan
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

liverpool has asked too play a traning match with my local team brann, arsenal has also done that.

i hope this goes through, id be extatic if it happened again.
PacMan

Houllier brought on Biscan for Cheyrou and played him at Right wing in the last 5 minutes and this is what made the fans stressful, as Man City increased the pressure. Judging on our recent performances City could have well made it 2-2. If Anelka was playing it could have been a different story altogether.

So anyone saw the Portsmouth game the other day? Great first goal by Owen linking up with Gerrard and Cheyrou was it? Shame about the equaliser though and think Liverpool will be kicking themselves esp. as Portsmouth have an abismal away record this season.. still havent won away from what i hear..

Also arsenal in the next leg if we can get past portsmouth. I dont fancy our chances considering our recent performances and arsenals great form this season. Saying that Liverpool tend to step up a gear for the big matches..
PacMan
dear god if we win at portsmouth this weekend, we got a hell of a match next round. and if we win next round i dont see any reason why we shouldnt win the whole thing.

Think this weekend is Portsmouth in the premiership.. then itll be the replay!! 3 games in a row! Hopefully we can learn from the last and win the next two!

3 things to mention:::

Liverpool are the latest Premiership club to be linked with an overseas takeover, as Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra is thought to be considering purchasing the club.
Shinawatra made tentative enquiries about buying Fulham last year, but Cottagers chairman Mohamed Al Fayed rejected his overtures.

The telecommunications tycoon is now thought to have switched his attentions to Liverpool as he looks to get involved in English football.

Thai national team coach Thawatchai Satchakul, who advised Thaksin during his targeting of Fulham, revealed he has been weighing up a move for Liverpool for some time.

"I believe the prime minister already had his aides checking Liverpool's financial position in the past four to five months," said Satchakul.

"He is now in the process of deciding whether to bid for Liverpool.

"His feeling now is similar to that five or six months ago when Fulham was in the picture. If you visualised him doing shopping in a store, I would say the prime minister's eyes are now fixed on Liverpool."

Thaksin admitted on Sunday that he was looking at buying a bigger club than Fulham, but refused to elaborate on the identity of his target.

"It should be a bigger club (than Fulham)," said Thaksin.

Any proposed move for Liverpool would depend on current chairman David Moores, who has been the club's majority shareholder at Anfield for over ten years.

Moores hinted at the club's AGM in January he would consider his position at the end of the season leaving the road clear for someone to take major control

I feel dissapointed and angry at liverpools performance at portsmouth on sunday. The first half was terrible for both teams.. noone could string any passes together and there were barely any attempts on goal. The second half was better.. but still liverpool were appauling in comparison to how they can play. Owen misses penalty, which wasnt a penalty i suppose.. and the defence for the goal was a shambles!!

Also why does Houillier want to play 4-5-1 against a team facing relagation, and why was Heskey playing almost left back/left wing, although he was nearly all the time in our half, in the first period. Its just not right.

Houilliers time is up i think.. he looked so miserable against portsmouth and had right to be miserable. I think martin o neill will be our next boss.. i think we need someone with experience on how to win a league.

To be fair to Gerard hes done well for the club, but i think hes taken us as far as possible and think its time for a change.

Next week is gonna be crucial for houillier, its leeds this weekend and if we cant beat them, i think he should go.. and if not now, at the end of the season..
