Sure Rafa deserves a chunk of the blame, but you have to give credit Barnsley's GK Luke Steele. He played the game of his life.
Intuition
So what happens if they win the Champions League again? Will this season be considered a failure? I don't think so, but it's risky business for Rafa cause he's putting all his eggs in one basket. On top of that, he faces some very stiff competition from some very hungry teams, starting with Inter tomorrow.

Barnsley huh??....

I think everyone (fans, players, Rafa, owners) had extremely high hopes for Liverpool this season. They were expecting to win the Prem and Champions League with the FA Cup not being a big concern of theirs (no idea why). Perhaps all that pressure finally got to them and they realized too late that they can't just get by on name alone. This season in the Prem had a lot of surprise teams winning games they thought they wouldn't win (Man City taking Man U, Everton bumping up 4+ spots on the table in a matter of games).

I'd say as long as Liverpool plays well, and shows that they're still the team they SHOULD be, the season won't be a failure. Of course taking home a few trophies would be a nice reward :p
