We've been over this already damnit. :p
There are romantic guys and romantic girls but what you're talking about is selfishness... and just like some guys just do it for sex, some girls just do it for money and gifts and attention (and sometimes also for sex).
If horny sex maniacs are what you expect, then that's what you'll end up looking for, and that's what you'll end up getting! |

How many romantics do we have here on TA?
I was thinking about my last relationship and I'm like " there wasn't a drop of romance in it". So sad, I know... . Anywayz what was the last romantic thing you did for your g/f or b/f? Does romance go hand in hand with sex?Is it a drag for guys to be romantic? Because it's really hard to find romantic guys nowdays and it seems to be so very painful for them to be romantic, like a torture or something... Is there any truth to that guys? Anywayz post your thoughts and experiences... keep the sex talk to the minemum though...PLS:D . |
Roses or nice sorts of things when you're looking for sex when married. Else it's back to beer and fishing as the norm...

Sometimes one person is romantic at one moment, and completely about sex at another.
i think its all a matter of where that person is in their life. |

Yeah that's true I guess, but I dunno...
Seems like some people are born caring about others, and some are born caring about themselves... I don't know how much it really changes with age. |

Yeah some people are *sings* born to be zzzz..
but oh well.
I think for the most part, even those s, at some point, had a desire to settle down and care for some one.
it's all about how people are raised.
You guys have no idea how much gender plays into this...
guys are bred to think that there is a "manly" way to go about things...a "manly" existence...and likewise with the females.
There are certain things and actions that characterize what a man or woman is and does....in reality those "things" are nothing but passed down traditions that have become the social norm.
In relation to romance....im sure a lot of guys out there would be considered pussies if they were completely up front about their desire to receive a flower every once in a while, or whatever....
Fact is....people are people, and whatever a person does to exemplify their care/love/affection for a person is chillin....
the idea of ROMANCE is over rated because it in itself designates certain actions or ways to behave in order to BE romantic, and thats just not true. |

Well, I understand not wanting to define romance on any concrete terms... I'm fine with just calling it any way to show that you care.
But in my experience it's really the women that have the most trouble with this. Guys are so easy to please and always do nice things... and yeah we can be horny but that's largely independent of love/romance. For some reason most girls just seem to expect to receive and never have to give... true, guys might be seen as pussies if they get too sappy, but that's a social thing, with girls it seems to be a personal thing and if they do too much in a relationship then they feel like they're losing control.
I guess there are some girls out there that are going to "know" that I'm wrong... just wish that someone would actually prove it to me. And no, that's not a request for an e-date, I'm just saying that whoever I do end up with in the long term is going to have to know how to give, not just receive (or , at least receive graciously without thinking that I'm "supposed to" do those things?) |

You're totally right....women feel like their loosing their ground with men if they do too much.
It's all a part of the whole woman movement...woman power and so on..
If you look at it...a lot of feminist movements are just trying to create a social existence that applies male dominant traits to a woman... like, move over guy i have woman power....
but you know where a lot of these ladies are concintrating their women power? In their VAGINAS.
and dont act like you dont know what im talking about lol
i have been told by SO MANY LADIES that they have the power to make a man do whatever she wants because shes got a pu$$$$$y
whateva lol |

hah! so true!
most of my past g/f's thought they could control me by cutting off sex, but that was when I was a stupid mid-teenager. I've now come to realise that I can control myself :) |
