Really good party guys! I pretty much have accepted the fact that I may never get to Holland for a Sensation White party, so this is the next best thing. You're so lucky to have large venues accept such parties in your city.

Seriously tho, where were all the Montreal TA's? I only saw Malek & Zing, & 2 of the Ottawa guys.

Got there rather late since my bf and I were staying with friends in Pointe-Claire, & they needed a power nap b4 heading out. So we get to the venue at 2, missing Preach :( . Took a while longer to actually make it into the room, due to a slow coat check line. Only after entering did I find out I had been put on the guest list (had already used up my tickets) so I phoned my friends in the regular line & had them sell their tix & use my spots. Made it into main room by 3, & joined the whole TO gang on stage behind AVB. Found the sound to be better on stage than it was in front of Armin. Armin played a great set from what I heard, & if he was the one who played ATRC, I'm soooo glad I missed it. Also met Banghiman at this party (hey!).

PVD shows up, shakes 2 peoples hands, and gets far away from the fans as possible. During his set, the lighting guy was soooo whacked on G-d knows what, u could tell he could barely focus his eyes, let alone notice he was seriously overdoing it with the smoke machine. :whip: Luckily, PVD played a set unlike what I was expecting, but ended up going for a massage at that point (2nd one that day after a trip to Ovarium). The massage station was HUGE and well run, but how I regret being stuck on the table when "Sosei" came on.

Then off to Deep Dish, where it was so hot and crowded up front. For some LAME reason, security made u walk around the stage/room to enter VIP on the other end, instead of just letting u walk the 10 ft across the back of the stage they had cordoned off for no reason. DD's opening was pretty cool- lotsa classics thrown in there at the begining. Sound in this room was much louder, never put in my earplugs, and suffered the consequences. :( Remix of 'Shout' was really good!

Would've liked to see some performances or more dancers during the show (looks like I missed one show at the beginning in this room), & some lazers. Luckily didn't see anything disturbing or emotionally scarring go down at this party. I guess for the guys, Montreal has a lot of female eye candy to look at. Personally, I could do without all the slutty outfits, but I know to expect it in Montreal. Most shocking sight was a girl in bathroom wearing a loin cloth that barely covered her ass, held up by string on the sides, and NO underwear. WTF?

Lasted til the end, but made sure to get out of there b4 the music ended to avoid imminent coat check hell. Got my shirt, but found out no CD's were ever there to hand out. By the sounds of it, they only distibuted 1 shirt syle and size at a time, which is not very smart. Some people left with M sized shirts that wont fit. Also, they cut your wrist band off when u took a shirt, which was also dumb, as your band is supposed to get u entry to the other parties during the week. DUH!!!!

Thx Louis for the tix (tho I never met u :( ), Malek for the stage hookups (glad to see u showed up after all), David B for the guest list, ALL the TO peeps for providing great company, Lama & Frankie for the hospitality, RobbyG for the ride, and all the people who helped Graham thru his 'rough spot'.

Also, if ever visiting Montreal, go to Ovarium for the floatation bath & massage combo, & try to get a horse & carriage ride in Old Montreal from the guy named Scott with the horse named Blazer. Scott keeps beer along for the ride (or will stop for some) and has the most killer pot! He got us sooooooooo stoned!!!! :eyespop:

bye for now!

I seriously can’t believe I missed this event. Too be quite honest I had little reason not to go. I just didn’t get my act together. Sitting here at work and reading all these outstanding reviews, even from the Toronto TA’s is just killing me.

This was a REALLY memorable party! :D

I can't say enough good things about the venue and how things were organized once inside. Even when things got pretty rammed around 3AM there was always lots of space around to dance on the outer edges if you got tired of the crowd - or couldn't breathe because of overkill on the stupid smoke machine.

The coatcheck/searching area by itself was in a room big enough to have a party - so that went through nice and quick.

VIP areas had a nice setup behind the DJs in the respective rooms and was worth the added expense...

DJs:

Armin:

I wasn't expecting anything good after Thursday's Guv set but I was impressed after the first hour - bangin' tracks with a harder edge and fluff was kept to a respectable minimum - I still didn't get to hear Blue Fear though :whip: :whip:

PVD:

I had such high hopes.. oh well.. he started off ok and finished ok - the middle of his set was typical of what he's been playing for months already... He was mildly better at Space in Miami, but, I haven't been blown away by any of his sets since the set that is still up for download that I posted back in August 2003. Wake up PVD - you're losing your touch.

Deep Dish:

Only caught the tail end of their set... they aren't much my style in general but the crowd was loving it and that's all that really matters.. The customary tie-in of some 80s tunes went over really well - even at 10am the place was still rammed...

...I met quite a few TAs but ironically very few of them were from Montreal and more were from Ontario - where were you all hiding?

I'll be back again - as will most of the TAs that were there that night judging from their experience :)

Suggestion for next year:

- Need more lighting above the DJ
- add some screens for visuals
- take it easy on the smoke machine

That's it!

Well....I made it home

And I would do it ALL over in a in second:crazy: ....Toronto is REALLY missin out which is a real shame...Anyway I got to Montreal on Sat & stayed at the Holiday Inn which was right next door to the venue (next year I will stay there again if the venue is in the same building)...and YES.... the venue was SUWperb:gsmile: ...Rooms ( actually they were more like big ass "halls") were huge which let me dance the whole night away...Met amazing people such as:

Andy & Mike from Montreal...wicked liquid dancers:toocool:
Del...great to finally meet you ;)
Louis...happy to finally put a face to the name & hope to see u in T.O. soon
All the T/As here...RJ,Alexa,Margaret,Ray,Greg and so many others...

I also indulged in a lil back rub as well which really helped the ol' back...Kinda wished they served other brands of beer OTHER then Coor's Lite water...loved ALL the ballons...OOOOOH the ballooons....lotsa balloons:crazy:

The music was also amazing...Armin was ing SICK as always with some great fave trance beats...PVD was "ok" and didn't really impress me which was ty 'cause he was SO good when he was at the Koolhaus in T.O....Deep dish were really good too and the best I've ever heard from them in a long time...Preach was also great...So all in all a memorable nite

I just wanna say that the weekend was extra special partying with DJ Mike Schryer & Jenna....U guys are awesome...thanx SO much for letting me know about this party when we were @ BOA for the Scumfrog.I had no idea that parties like this existed anymore ever since the idiots who run Toronto banned GOOD parties...But for SURE we'll do it next year

Anyway I hope everyone got home safe so that I can see you all next year at BAL EN BLANC
