| quote: | Dont make it sound like I completely rejected any offers to resolve this. I said that I wanted to have you sell that powerbook, and then pay you the difference. It makes a lot more sense than me trying to earn the $2300, while making you wait, and then having you send me the laptop, then have it sold to try collecting the difference.
I offered payment plans, but you and Tegu want your money in full ASAP.
| I have spent two months trying to recover my money. Obviously, anything other than a full refund is not acceptable.
I am not a financial institution. I am not in the business of making loans, and I require that my money be returned.
Anything involving ME trying to sell the incorrect machine (which I suspect was stolen to begin with) on ebay does not make "a lot more sense." |

i think ppl are being a bit harsh on Spective. As TTA said he knows him to be a sound guy, also I myself can remember asking Arturo about 2.5 years ago about Spective being okay as he was selling pvd posters on this site and Arturo said he had met him in person and he was kosha.
ing bitch of an ex god damn, just shows you how evil some bitches can be! |

i really can't believe that you guys buy this story.
spective: want me to eat my own words. make the payment for the full amount, that's the only way buddy. i am not going to accept payment in installments, i do not know you and cannot trust you to do that. you have one shot to resolve this, that's as simple as it gets. quit dragging this out and muddying the waters, everyone on here would like to see this resolved. your reputation and your future are at stake here. it is in your best interest to refund all of the money to all of us immediately. |

| Any word yet on the people who have supposedly been sent cheques? |

My advice to everybody involved is to go to the police with this.
Even if Spective sends you your cheques back, the police still need to be informed that this is going on. I assume there will be an investigation anyway as I'm sure Spective will want his money back from his ex.
Go to the police, don't worry about whether Spective is telling the truth or not as it makes no difference. Explain you've been a victim of fraud, tell them the explanation you've recieved from Spective and that he's promised to reimburse you personally, and that you'll keep them updated with any further progress.
If you never recieve your cheques you can let the police know there have been further complications, if you do recieve them I hope you'll cooperate with the police further on bringing down Stacey. |

I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong here, I'm saying that from all the years that I've known spective, I've never known him to pull a stupid stunt like this. I understand a lot of people are pissed off because they were had by either spective or someone pretending to be spective. The cops will eventually sort this out but Spective's story seems to make sense, I'm not saying that it is truth, nor I am saying it is a lie, I am saying from how long I've known Spective (since 2001), he is not the person to pull that stunt, I've done business with him and never had a single problem.
Yes some of you are out a big amount of money and angry as heck but does'nt his story seem decent, he wants to marry a girl, who has access to his personal information, she cheats with another man, spective ends it and she gets angry and decides she can pull a scam. I'm not in the business of claiming that without a shadow of a doubt, spective is not 100% responsible, nor can I say he is 100% guilty, the matter did not happen to me nor do I know the exact details.
I mean does someone with a 97% ebay rating just start scamming people without ebay kicking his ass?, human behavior is predictable, you get up the same time, you eat the same things, your routine is predictable, you may change it slightly but you don't decide to get up at 4pm one day, when you get up every other day at 8am. The behavior is out of the ordinary for even spective, remember folks this is a guy without a single mp3 on his PC, a guy who was given unreleased CDR's by artists who trusted him. I just don't see how spective would do that, it's not like him to pull a stunt. If he is the culprit, I'll be the first to cry out for the maximum punishment but right now I see no evidence to see otherwise. The police will investigate this eventually and they will probably sort out this horrible mess, I mean you think Spective wants to be in this mess, where his ex is leaving him on the hook for 1000's, do you think he wants you to be unhappy with someone selling merchandise, as I've said, I've made numerous deals with him since 2001 and everytime I've got my stuff.
It's a true mess and it is fraud, there is no two ways about it but I'm not a trained lawyer nor do I know the US laws on Fraud but I do know they don't take it lightly and they will kick whoever's ass who did it. I understand some of you guys are mad as heck, I would be as well but as least let Spective attempt to sort this here. I mean if he was guilty as , would he have posted an entire thread telling the true story about this, would he have sent 200 bucks to some guy, I sincerly doubt it but as you people have your own views, you can choose to believe what you want but I simply don't see enough credible evidence to suggest Spective himself is doing it but remember if he is the one that did it, I'd be the first one to call for the law to deal with him. Let the cops in San Fran sort this ugly as mess out, it's fraud, it's against the law but if his story turns out to be true, can you live with yourself yelling and calling for his head, yes some of you are out tons of coin but I don't think I could sleep at night knowing I wanted one guy gone when he did not do it. So at least give him a few days to sort this out and go to the cops and have them sort it out, if stacy is responsible then the cops will deal with her and she will be forced to pay back the money. I think everyone involved wished this did not happen in the first place, Spective rather just do what he was doing and not have to realize that someone might have been using his name for fraud, the people involved could have bought merchandise with the money legit and people like me would not have to sit and wonder did this guy do it or not and feel bad that everyone is angry and pissed off and that the cops will be involved. |

Andy, thanks for bringing up our old transactions. I remember he bought a BRAND NEW Sander Kleinenberg CD from me. He receieved it still in its shrink wrap within days of me receiving his payment via cash in the mail.
You bring up an excellent point. Being a member of eBay since 99, and a member of TA since around the same time, why would all of a sudden wake up and say "HMMM, I AM GOING TO SCREW PEOPLE OUT OF MONEY FOR THOUSANDS!"
Also, Andy brought up a very cool thing. Producers and labels all ove rthe world trust me with their unreleased music, because they know that I keep their music safe and dont even think about leaking it out. In fact, a certain big name producer on this board, once repeatedly told me he would give me unreleased work in exchange for some of the CDRs ive been sent. I kept saying no, and eventually he gave me his music anyways because he said "I was testing your integrity. I saw first hand how resistant you were in leaking other peoples music, o I feel safe now you will do the same for me"
Hopefully with some of the positive reve |
Exactly why I still rather believe the ex story for now because it fits with the most with what I know. |
