I think a lot of people here need to give some serious thought to th things there saying.

I understand that being ripped off sucks, and that Spective seems like a total for this whole thing. However I think that at some point people have to be reasonable and realize that peoples lives are complicated, that people make mistakes and that sometimes stuff goes wrong. I completelly understand people wanting to get their money back, and if people dont I think they are completelly in the right for going to legal authorities over the issue.

The problem I have is with all these people saying Spective should be tossed in jail, and pursued regardless of if he paid anyone back. First of all this shows a complete lack of compassion, which is kind of dispicable, but more to the point it shows a basic lack of understanding about the issue. Putting someone in jail is not going to help them, or you. All its going to do is really screw up someones life, making them much more likely to continue to commit crime. This is not in reality beneficial to you, or society. Sure maybe you'll feel good about getting your revenge, but thats a pretty shallow glory.

I agree with you on one point: Jail time doesn't tend to do anyone any good. However, the likelihood that spective would serve jail time is negligible unless he is a repeat offender with a long record of other crimes. Most likely he'd receive probation and would have to perform community service. That would do both him and society far more good. Maybe he could see what it's _really_ like for people in this world who are in far worse shape. They suffer every day of their lives, yet still choose to do the right thing and remain honest.

The main reason I would want a criminal act reported is to put it in the public record. People deserve to know what a person is capable of, and stealing four to five thousand dollars from people because you value your apartment more than your integrity is not a mistake. Spective had things he could've sold legally for decent money, and decided not to take that road. That was his choice.

well we can finally lay this all to rest

i got a check for $900 from Spective yesterday and it cleared and went straight into my bank account.

thanks for refunding my money and as far as i'm concerned, spective has certainly made right his wrong. we all make mistakes and spective certainly fixed his. i appreciate you fed-exing that to me as well.

so now, no more flames, no more posts about this, it's resolved, end of story. now i've got to go get ready for a hurricane...
