flawless mixing

I'm probably more of a Tiesto fan than most on here but I thought Magik 6 had some of the worst mixing I've ever heard on a commercial CD :S ..fair enough the timing was mostly spot on but the beatmatching was undisputibly poor.

The best mixing I've ever heard was from Cass, on Mixmag's 'Planet Progressive' free CD, from way back in April 2001... I don't know if it was done live or sequenced but ALL the transitions are ridiculously well executed... if it was live then I'm surprised he hasn't made that big a name for himself as a DJ.

What the are you talking about. Those DJ's don't hold a candle to BBB you skilless newbie. He was winning DMC competitions while you were throwing rocks at girls on the playground. Years before your precious "progressive" even existed. He was known long before Sasha & Digweed shared their first kiss. He was among the ranks of Armando, Frankie Knuckles, Fast Eddie, and other 80's Chicago legends when the DJ's you mention were struggling from gig to gig. Hell, have you even heard the mixes I suggested? As if you'd know what good mixing and music is regardless.

I wouldn't call Burned with desire and Yet another day awesome, but whatever. Also, there are people out there who are far more skilled on the decks. But maybe you just have to discover them yet. Don't worry, this is just a phase you're going through.

For pure mixing / beatmatching skills, I'd pick Diggers, the few times I've seen him live (three times iirc) he was near perfection technically, amazed even though I'm not that keen on prog when going out.

When regarding techno, I define skills differently, it's not just about beatmatching perfectly (didn't say that's all that matters when regarding prog or trance, though), but rather on skills, tricks and keeping the set interesting altogether. Jeff Mills' mixes are often enough a tad rough, but he keeps you hooked to the set nonetheless with awesome track selection and tricks.

Remeber I am from Chicago where are you from ? I grew up listening to Bad Boy Bill in the the late 80's. He was good. He started to lose his taste for house and mixing in the mid 90's. Remeber when he decide to play Euro- Cheese with DJ Markski from 1998-2000. Just becuase he scratches doesnt mean he's a good mixer.

If you think Bad Blue Bill is better DJ skill wise than Sasha, Diggers, or Sander than you need to get your head checked. Wake up !! The year is 2004 not 1991
