How would Power of Attorney be any better? That just signs decision making authority over to someone else. Presumably you would trust them enough to respect your wishes, but there is certainly no guarantee that they will. They could just as easily pull the same stunt that is happening in Florida. |
Wow this thread is still going...
Well for your info, Power of Attorney's (PA's) were implimented back in 1995 and drafted to prevent such issues(as in Florida case) from happening in Canada. I know this because I had to go through all our client Wills and add the PA's.
baystreetboi, I'm sorry you can't understand the legal ramifications behind a PA, but if I were you I'd be very careful about dismissing such a document...frankly, a dismissing statement is a very negligent one.
Since I'm not about to explain in detail the why's, how to's or the process of a proper Will and PA, I'd suggest you go pay your lawyer his $300 plus of disbursements for the same consultation and don't listen to me. |

If thats the way shes gonna go, that certainly is comforting/good to know |
yes, that definitely makes it better.
i mean when i saw the articles about what actually is going on in her head. i really think that the best thing would be for her to finally have her peace. her soul is kept here by a tube when it can be free and back to it's old self somewhere else.
i will definitely have to get my parents to write a will and let me know their wishes. |

She passed away this morning. RIP Terri. After 15 years she can finally find peace.

Agreed. It's a very complicated issue, and both sides have valid points to make. At this point, I think that it'll be all over for her soon. Personally, just let the woman rest. She's brain dead, her body is merely still catching up to the fact. I don't know about all of you, but artificial life is not life. |

do you think her parents will file a civil suit against him?
I think so, and think they will win.
Im also looking forward to the autopsy results when they release them. |

bahahahaha, that is just so funny, and kinda wrong :p
anyway, RIP and now lets hope the pope dies too so the media can have something more important to report about! :p
that was low sorry. But im really annoyed how cases like this and the pope get so much media exposure while other more important issues does not. |

I don't think they will...and if they do it'll be silly...there is absolutely nothing for them to gain...it won't bring her back to life and will just cause more suffering :( |

OJ was not guilty in criminal court, but he was found liable in the civil suit.
I dont think its a stretch to think that they might try to punish him. |
