It's about time we opened one up for the Habs!
So we got off to a huge start, people are saying bennnn calisse les canadiens gagne la coupe...But now, Kovalev is out for at least another month probably, Theo is having groin problems, we've lost 2 in a row...not to mention 5-1 to lowly Washington at home.
Same old Canadiens? Are we done for?

Kovalev brings another dimension to the team.
He plays on pk, pp and against the strongest lines of opposite teams.
Perezhogin or plekanec just wont make up for the loss on the 1st line. When Zednik was injured the first line was powering with Perez on it but once again mostly due to Kovalev
Overall I think we ve got a balanced team when healthy, an addon in defence is mandatory in order to be top 3 all season.
Streit is scaring me everytime hes around the crease...BUT hes gone in about 10 games as his contract implies a minimum of 30 games. This is the reason why you see him getting vip treatment with all the mistakes he makes. |

| I hope we can become 1st in the division again. |

| I doubt that will happen... sens have 1 point more and 3 games less played. |

| WOW... Montreal tied for 3rd with so many teams with Points (tied with 3 teams). God this sucks. |

| Ya the Sens are back on top where they should be....The Canadiens have some work to do now, and not a very easy schedule coming up. On the road at Buffalo, Ottawa and Toronto in the next week or so, they're gonna have to find some sort of groove or lose major ground in the Eastern Conference race. |

| The thing with the Habs is that they've won a whole lot of games by a margin of one goal... their +/- average is +1 since they have 65 goals for and 64 against. So if they've won so many with 1 goal well if that changes just a bit and they lose alot by 1 goal it could get bad. |

about time we had a habs thread! good idea.
Streit with his giveaways on Saturday! Brutal! Swiss-league MVP last year? should that mean anything...? Hi, I'm the mexican-league MVP, does that make me good?
Speaking of winners, how about Bonk who hasn't scored in 2 years?? not bad eh? Glad we got rid of Garon for him....:whip:
but seriously, I think people have been overreacting a bit cuz we lost 2 games in a row. We couldn't possibly keep up the pace we were at! Everyone is panicking that we won't make the playoffs all of a sudden, we should trade Theodore, fire julien blah blah.
Just chill. Give it some time. We have a good team, young players. So we lost 2 games. Big deal. We could be the florida panthers: 11 game losing streak and counting :eyes: ! |

it's still early in the season to be panicking, as long as they continue to play as good as they have been for the beginning of the season, i'm thinking the habs will make it to at least the second round of the playoffs.
Also, why bother with kovalev's injry ? In a short time most of the teams will have a long list of injured players, and by them kovalev will be back.
All that bothers me this year is that the habs seems to only play 20 to 30 minutes per games and that will cost them !

| Theodore needs to be shot...put out of his misery.:( |

Theodore is a fine goalkeeper.
The difference between him and any other good goalkeepr is that in the other cities, goalkeeper are allowed to have a night-off or give a bad goal. where in Montreal, every player have to be perfect or else people will ask for them to be lynched !
