People have been executed in Singapore before and no one in Australia has said boo, now its a major issue for the whole population. And no matter what the outcome of this is it will continue to happen, and the Australian populaiton won't care anymore. Its either a problem or its not, its not only a problem when theres an Australian affected. Get what i mean?

the same reason suddenly every australian is a soccer fan ;)

to answer your question properly; coz most people in australia would not be aware of the numerous executions that occur around the world. we are only told stuff when its deemed to be in our interest. in most cases, when an aussie is to be put to the sword.

its always a problem. whether its an australian sentenced or not. the fact that the australian citizenry only pays attention when the media highlights it is hardly a surprise. nor a criticism of australians. there are only so many things that one can care/put interest into at any one point; this goes for the media as well.

youre a nice big capitalist nutter. the media is there to make money, and stories re australians are going to make more money in australia than a story about a random nationality.

its all quite simple really.

Thats the same when those bombings happened in England, i forgot how many people were killed and they had it on TV news for about 3 days.

When the bombings in Jordan happened killing over 200 people. They didnt even put it as a headline, it was about 20 minutes through the news reading.

Bastards!

yeah, so if in some country it was illegal (for women) to have sex before marriage, then i wouldnt feel sorry for them either coz they deserved to be stoned to death coz they knew what they were doing was wrong.

what i find laughable is the stance of people on a dance music website in relations to drugs. sure, not all TAs use drugs, but i bet an overwhelming percentage have dabbled.

when your good friend rocks up to your place with your order grasped eagerly in his tight lil hands, where the fvck do you think it came from? its the people you never hear of, the people that van nguyen wanted to be, that have given you your night out. people are so quick to attack those awful dealers/traffickers as long as their hanging doesnt ruin the supply of your particular poison of choice.

very few people are forced to try narcotics, the idea that these runners are hurting innocent users is laughable (see news.com.au quote). tell me what is served by his death.

some guy is gonna get murdered for making a stupid mistake. i pity the fvckers on here that cant seem to understand that.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

I agree 100%
narcism
dont see everyone jumping up and down for the bali bombers which have a date with the firing squad?

Its called an eye for an eye.

I can understand harsh offences for drug trafficking in S.E-Asian countries but I'm a staunch opponent of the death penalty (esp. by hanging) so I could never support it.

I'm partially conflicted as well because I believe that nations should not intervene with those of others' but I cannot bear to see those gutless wonders Downer and Howard reading their pathetic little "Oh-no-we-tried" speeches...

It anyone else insulted by the minutes silence that people are calling for?:whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip:

This guy is a ing criminal - DEFINATELY not someone deserving of honour or rememberance. Imagine how you would feel if you were a war veteran with this snoozer getting honoured in this way . . . . . .

Bull.

I willl probably stop and think, not for him, but for the fact that he has become a symbol of how barbaric the human race is. There are also going to be thoughts for his mother, to see your child die in such a horrible way and without being able to hold them would be absolute and total agony.

A minutes silence is in rememberance of those who have actually accomplished something. Those who gave their lives in defending our country.

NOT, i repeat NOT, for criminals.

Having a silence for a criminal is absolutely disgusting and amounts to the desecration of theose who have defended our country in the past.
