Maybe so. Guess I am lucky catching him for the first time in 05 and him being a phenominal dj, to me. My comments about the Ableton were soley based on the fact that it should be harder to mix without a computer program at your side. I don't expect to hear a trainwreck much when Sasha uses Ableton, although I know it is possible. But I don't think it is fair to compare the two when obviously one technique is easier to use when mastered when compared to the other. |

You do realize that Sasha's spun with vinyl, CD, and Ableton, right?? He's mastered all of them. In fact, I've actually heard people say that his mixing was smoother when he was spinning vinyl, but he didn't have as many sampling and looping options as he does with the software. |

For me Digweed is rather boring. I like a lot of songs in his sets but Sasha can make set very special. Like his set from
Live @ The Arena Pier 12-04-04 Part 2. From 52 minute he made it crazy, not boring...
And that transition to Magnetic North and then to Perasma is fcking unbelievable. |

I've probably seen armin more times than you have and he IS NOWHERE CLOSE TO AS GOOD A DJ AS SASHA...as in tracks, technical ability, and set building....Sasha is pushing music forward by using new technologies ie. ableton and spinning new genres of house music not going backwards by playing trance that has been past its prime for years now...
FYI DOOMBOT here's when I've seen armin...
5/?/02 in Boston 2002
10/4/03 in Boston At Avalon
4/9/04 in NyC At Roxy
5/28/04 in Boston At Avalon
4/1/05 in Boston At Avalon
10/1/05 in DC At Glow
Always the same result with trainwrecks and awkward transitions....dont tell me u have a clue about djing please if u wanna even put armin and sasha on the same playing field...Also i highly doubt you have even used ableton live or have any djing skill whatsoever....so maybe ignorance is your only saving grace in this argument...
and whats funny is that you criticize sasha for being boring while alot of the same tracks digweed has been playing lately are on sasha's playlist hmmmm
and digweed being in anyone's shadow????He was number 1 dj in the world the year before Tiesto had his threepeat |

You've only seen him 3 more times. Makes no difference as far as I am concerned. I have a clue about djing. Only been mixing for 2 months now, but I would assume that would atleast give me a clue. And yes, Sasha bored me. OH MY YOU BELIEVE THAT!!!? I saw Digweed and had a blast, regardless of his tracks also being played by Sasha. Ya know, it's not the tracks that you throw down that make a set but how do you it. When you throw it down, how you throw it down, etc. Throwing down big name tracks don't make you a better DJ. Maybe it is YOU who doesn't have a clue about djing. |

i've seen armin 17 times back in my trancetastic days, whereas i have seen sasha 8. i must say there is absolutely NO comparison between the two.
the music sasha and digweed play is like red wine, you have to develop a taste for it. armin, while good, is white and nothing like the good stuff.
doombot- i was like you a few years ago. i thought what sasha and digweed played was boring, all sounded the same, but then my ears got better and i began to see that what armin, tiesto, pvd do...isn't really that amazing. at all.
i'm sure one day your ears will catch up to your mouth and you might have a different opinion. :p |

| it takes a while for some to understand what is good music and what is just loud screching synths...to each their own but we really know who is better...armin is liek the backstreet boys/nsync, hell be done in no time, sasha has been going since 89 and will continue to reinvent himself as an artist more on the lines of madonna...its pure and simple...end of discussion...;) |
