That nice. My cd collection mainly consists of AvB, PvD, Ferry Corsten, Digweed, and Tiesto. Has been for about 4 years now. I'm not bored. I don't see my taste changing any time soon like most here. To each their own. :D |

What I said was a joke. Take it for what it was. And again, you are giving an opinion by saying "There are a lot more people in the EDM community who feel that Armin is overrated as opposed to those who feel that Sasha is overrated." Not everyone who listens to EDM posts on the TraceAddict internet forum. :) |
I think if you polled the musically literate (hell, even just DJs and producers, who should know the most about EDM), you'd find that more would feel Armin's the more overrated of the two.
Like I said before, I like Armin, but Sasha's music definitely has more complexity. Calling it boring prog shows you're not listening closely enough to appreciate it. Not everything has to be banging at 140 bpm to be energetic enough to dance to. I will say I find it easier, but when a set's good, it's easy to get into it whether it's at 120 bpm or 150 bpm. |

absolutely. doombot- i don't think anyone has said in this thread that they hate armin or he sucks..etc. i LIKE armin a lot! even despite the fact that when i go to his shows he is still playing the same stuff from a year ago, and acting like it's brand new...i still have fun.
i just think you need to be a little more open-minded about music for your own good! with that kind of attitude, you are more than likely to be missing out on some great tracks and some fabulous djs.
if you are interested in going a little deeper, let me know, and i will hook you up with some serious sickness! :) |

Digweed's not trance, so you've expanded your collection somewhat. All that I'm saying is that there's a lot of good music out there from different genres. To pigeonhole yourself into one style is your own loss.
BTW, i've got a few CDs and lots of sets from everyone you listed, too. |

This is the most senseless and most hypocritical thread I've ever seen. One thing that has always gotten me mad is when people talk about EDM and say "mainstream people hate on our music and generalize it" and then they do the same thing about Rock and/or Hip Hop. Drives me crazy. And then, when these people are called out on it, they say "well, it's different." Why? Because you like EDM and not Hip Hop or Rock? I'll never get that.
In anycase, I hate this thread and everything it stands for. For real. |

I know what you all were trying to say. And in all honesty, this thread turned into a debate, so I took a side. And like I said, I am extremely open minded to all EDM music, more then you all seem to know really. But some of the genres bore me quicker then others. I never saw a real techno dj before and went and saw Chris Liebing for the hell of it. Had a kick ass time. Went to Spirit one night to see Alien Project. Never before that night have I ever even listened to Psy Trance but I figured what the hell, I might like it. Had an INSANE time. Maybe one of my top 5 nights out of the year! Went to the Loft Party knowing damn well all or most that was going to be played was House. I loved it! My favorite part of the night was in the morning when (I forget the guys name) played trance. :) Went and saw Digweed in DC and realised that this guy was really no joke and other then Armin, is one of the only dj's Id clearly go out of my way to see again.
All I can say to you is that it is clearly quite simple. I like trance above all EDM. It really isn't going to change I don't think. When I mess with my decks I throw in some house every once and a while but after about a half hour of doing so I go to my Trance tracks for the rest of the time. I simply enjoy it more. But who knows what the future holds. :)
And thanks for the offer. :D |

Because the Sasha thread deserves to be bashed to hell while the Armin thread stands tall with no obstructions in its way. Makes perfect sense to me! :D |
if you'd keep condescending comments like these out of the thread, then i'd take you more seriously. and this is from the very beginning of this thread. |

Absolutely. He is an excellent dj and plays excellent music. But he will come on probably at 1 or 2am and finish up at 5am. That is enough Prog for me in one full sitting. |
is prog progressive? what would you say armin spins?
never heard sasha live |
