I hope you don't take stock in the dj mag poll...
The Dj Mag Poll is a popularity contest but I'm not getting into that argument |

Nope. I say Sasha bores me and this thread turned into an uproar. I clearly stated that I DO like the tunes he plays but his mixing alone is what bores me. Notice, clearly, that I said I like Digweed and he would be my second choice of DJ's to catch live in a club, after Armin. It is people like YOU who can't simply leave me alone about liking the djs and music that I do because you feel superior for some strange reason. By the way, didnt I see you at Spirit June 10th? Armin was spinning that night... |

umm playing paul van dyk remixes and when i saw him at roxy "Love Comes Again"....i think the tunes were big without armins help....
and he was the last one of the big name djs to start playing pryda-aftermath...hmmm
he's a pop dj...which is fine for making money but not pushing the music forward |

haha clever... my point is, you guys are talking about which DJ has more skill... does it ever occur to you that 90% or more of ppl who listen to other music dont evn regard EDM as real music, its all computer made and "doesnt take any real skill to make it"... different people think different things... one person might find it easier to use Abelton Live and do live edits as a set, rather than play a set with turntables, CDs, and a mixer... |

didn't i tell you i have seen armin 17 times? just because i realize sasha is far superior than armin in many rights, doesn't mean i can't still go to ANY event and have a good time. the only dj i am kinda boycotting seeing now is PVD because i haven't heard any sort of variety for 4 years now.
i just went to a local dj night at glow this past weekend and i still had a blast.
i may know the difference between good and e djs, but i'm sure as hell not an elitist. |

I have it there because that was the song O'Bir dropped during the 2005 countdown. It was an amazing song for the moment. But I'll have you know I have probably not listened to that song in full more then 3 times after that. :) |

you picked the one or two examples that will help u in favor... did u like SYNERGY's "hello strings"? thats a perfect example of how a tune could get so big because of some1 else... SYNERGY, whoever he is, didnt make his own song huge and then ARMIN came along and played it because it was a hit.... nope, Armin made that, as he has made a million other songs as popular a trance record as they can be. who was Andy Moor (Whiteroom) before ASOT? who was Sam Sharp before ASOT (and the help of PvD too)? if u wanna use that argument, then youre basically hating on all EDM DJs, everyone from Erick Morillo to Ferry Corsten, because theyre playing what is big in THEIR musical vision... Armin's musical style/vision/preference just happened to make it big and the haters can do nothing but regard it as "mainstream". |

i hear that but the peeps who think that edm is not real music, well they dont get it either....truth is QUALITY edm not in fluff bull is some of the most complex to sequence and produce...go see lil john or any of those hip hoppers, they can make beats in no time and get paid waaay too much for it...that is market oriented and im not about to start talking economics with you...truth is good dance is recognized by real musicains and artists everywhere behind the scenes, and now that is is getting more popular the producers are starting to ser the benefits and getting paid more for gigs etc.. look at madonna for instance, a real artist got stuart price, aka jauque lu cont/thin white duke to do her newest album and it is mainstreeam as ahit with a dance music artist behind it...point is maybe u all might have more fun seeing armin and all that bull but the ones making this music better are the sasha's, digweeds, sanders, DESYN's, Porters, and all who live for progress and moving forward |
