i will be done when you stop referring to "prog" like house, trance, techno...etc |
I don't like an extensive amount of prog anything. Read my ing posts and understand that. Its very simple. |

my point wasnt to go out and buy the whole tracklist of ASOT simply because it was on ASOT... look at my last reply. |
my point is that just because armin plays it doesnt mean it wasnt big before or after he did or AT LEAST SHOULDNT BE |

Why, because you dont like it? Because YOU classify it as fluff and cheese? Other people like it man, accept that FACT! |

No, I don't go out of my way to listen to Schulz. Yes, I know Armin plays prog. Most if not all Trance dj's do. But Armin usually uses it to begin a set. Which is good enough for me. First hour or so Prog and the rest of the night being uplifting or tech trance. :) |

I do accept that some people have no taste sometimes :) I just will call out people who think they know what they are talking about when they don't |

Me possibly lol....I'm not 100 percent though...I might go to the Low End Specialists in Boston that night instead and wait to see sasha at the WMC in March |

this means, he has a show for his fans to hear him every week and provide us with beautiful music that we OTHERWISE might not have heard before... if Sander or Desyn or Porter or Sasha were to have a weekly radio show (which im sure most of you would be happy about and not CONDEMN them for it), youd be able to pinpoint all the songs they played when you saw them live, but because they dont have a radio show with a weekly "tune of the week" and extensive tracklist, you dont know what they play for the most part, and you associate this with them living "for progress and moving forward"... gimme a break... you like their music and you dont like Armin's, and thats that. |
I actually really disagree with this. Digweed has a show, yet I can't trainspot his sets for . They always have unknown tracks in them. Also, with the amount of bootlegged sets floating around that there are, people get to hear at least one, if not a few, new sets per month from some of the guys that you mentioned.
The big trance DJs have a lot of tracks that you expect to hear when you're out. It's like going to most mainstream pop and rock concerts, where you can predict half of the tracks included in the set before you've even heard it.
I like both of them, but I do understand what GUBostonDubs is saying. I'd definitely give Sasha more artistic merit than Armin, though I can have a lot of fun dancing at one of Armin's gigs.
Also, I'd say that Armin's show does bring out a great deal of new tracks, because the vocal tracks he tends to play are embraced by a larger percentage of the general population due to the fact that they are closer to pop than what Sasha plays. I'll use my brother as an example, since he thinks that the person who deserves the most credit in an EDM production is the vocalist. Anything non-vocal all sounds the same to him. |
