SYNERGY, whoever he is, didnt make his own song huge and then ARMIN came along and played it because it was a hit.... nope, Armin made that, as he has made a million other songs as popular a trance record as they can be. who was Andy Moor (Whiteroom) before ASOT? who was Sam Sharp before ASOT (and the help of PvD too)? if u wanna use that argument, then youre basically hating on all EDM DJs, everyone from Erick Morillo to Ferry Corsten, because theyre playing what is big in THEIR musical vision... Armin's musical style/vision/preference just happened to make it big and the haters can do nothing but regard it as "mainstream". |
He wins! |

It may be big in their musical genre but its not cheese or fluff trance thats been overdone in every which way and is past its prime....and do u think i really give a about hello strings...I don't think a tracks value is determined by who plays it...There are plenty of bombs out there that big name djs miss or dont choose to play....I'm not going to play a track because armin or sasha does....maybe asot has fried too many minds around here...damn |

Well, good for you! Seriously, you have made an opinion and have every right to do so. And it makes sense, you consider what Armin plays cheese so you don't play it. Makes sense to me. Just like I wouldnt play prog much because most of the time it bores me. But... you did an even finer job in dodging Eco's point. So, 10000 Points to you!!!! :D |

u dont seem to get my point... before ASOT, were 80% of the songs he plays ANYTHING? did you know of any of those artists? no... now, people go to Armin shows and can write a full tracklist of songs they heard on ASOT... this doesnt mean its mainstraem or "the hot trance songs of the moment"... this means, he has a show for his fans to hear him every week and provide us with beautiful music that we OTHERWISE might not have heard before... if Sander or Desyn or Porter or Sasha were to have a weekly radio show (which im sure most of you would be happy about and not CONDEMN them for it), youd be able to pinpoint all the songs they played when you saw them live, but because they dont have a radio show with a weekly "tune of the week" and extensive tracklist, you dont know what they play for the most part, and you associate this with them living "for progress and moving forward"... gimme a break... you like their music and you dont like Armin's, and thats that. |

prog WHAT!?
"prog" is not a genre of it's own. there is:
progressive house
progressive trance
progressive breaks
they all are VERY different, my friend.. |

my point wasnt to go out and buy the whole tracklist of ASOT simply because it was on ASOT... look at my last reply. |
