there's nothing wrong about Americans, they are nice people.. but i have the impression that government isn't the best possible and president is quite crappy..
but i'm not an american so i might as well be off the track
anyway, something must be badly wrong if that kind of amount of money is going to army and fighting wars.. :rolleyes: |

This is perfectly put. And the worst part is that there are many highly educated Americans have no desire to peep beyond their back doorstep and see what awaits them. They have the money and the means to travel and explore, but it's as if they take America with them wherever they go and just fail to experience life outside of this country. They feel so secure in Abercrombie land that they never want to leave.
I'm very interested in what's going on in the world and people ask me why, as if it's a question, when I just take it for granted that people would be curious about their surroundings.
But beyond all of that, I think it's a shame because I care about this country. And history has shown what happens to great powers who lose track of reality. |

I see this everytime I go to Mexico, they know what's going on in the world, they are more open to everything and generally have a consceince outside their own lives. This is how the rest of the world is.

That's a generalization more appropriate for Republicans than conservatives, however it's still a generalization. You'd find most true conservatives have much more in common today with neo-Democrats than neo-Republicans. |

i wondered whether you got it the first time that clip was posted. clearly you didnt. yes, the CNNN is a comedy program not a real news service. however, the skit in question wasnt fake at all, they were asking average americans on the street those questions. not staged or faked in any way.
dont make us explain it to you a 3rd time coz its becoming tedious. just accept the fact that few americans know or give two s about what happens outside their borders. |

ok, what your saying is that true conservatives tend to be more neo demos then neo cons, which is bullcrap, because i dont know many democrats that are conservatives, in fact the total opposite, so your wrong. now it depends what you define as a conservative. as some people in here, conservatives are basicly like cave men living in america, they arent exposed to the outside world, blah blah. they are propobly refering to rednecks, and thinking that a true american conservative is a redneck, and all bush lovers are rednecks, etc etc. most of you europeans, that dont know, or never really knew any real conservatives, are wrong. in fact us conservatives are so exposed to the outside world, that we actually go into other countries and help them, and try to spread democracy. |

^^ coz CNNN is a wonderful show us aussies have been enjoying for many years. they do have "skits" on the show, or thats what i would term a bunch of different comedy routines. i cant prove to you that they didnt feed everyone those moronic american answers coz i wasnt there, but knowing how their show works i certainly give them the benefit of the doubt.
youre acting like it would be necessary to fake something when its just as easy to find stupid americans to make fools of their ignorant selves.
could you please explain why you consider it a fake? asides from the fact that you know sweet FA about the chaser obviously. |

Because simply the social impact of TV that goes back to the golden age of TV as i learned in Golden Age and Mass Media impact. Very few people who get on a show and do and say somethign that ing stupid. Also, most people might not know where Iraq is here but would surely know where the Australia or Italy is. IT'S A ING BOOT. Even Billy Bob Bubba Jed knows that.
Furthermore, it was shot in a metropolitan area. Not that many idiots in those areas. |
