So here's what I'm thinking, based on the samples on the isos.net site.
Conil - Malibu Beach is a great opening. very dreamy. At first , however, I wasn't quite sure how it would transition into Colour my Eyes. They don't really sound very close to each other.
I think of the great things about ISOS3 was that first 10 mins because it was very hard , if one had never heard those tracks before, to determine when one ends and one begins. it had great flow [and it kept that for the entire album].
this doesn't seem to have that...at first. but then again, of course, this is soley based on quick samples, and not the whole thing. regardless, its better than ISOS4's opening.
the rest of CD1 i think has some great stuff on it in the first half- empty streets, besides me, and that funky fonzerelli track [which at first i didn't like, but grew on it - and i want to hear in in a club] are good stuff.
but then we hit Let the Game Begin. ugh. not a fan of the Saw movie sample in there. just doesn't do it for me. the Karen Overton track that follows it, isn't really all that great either.
but then it seems to shift gears and starts up again with Let Me Be. and really, from there until the end, it's good stuff, i think. that JES track sounds good after Novacaine too . it reminds me of the fonzerelli track heard earlier. so i don't know if its bad that it doesn't follow that track instead.
And Little Bird - :eyespop: :eyespop: I really hope this track really finishes up nice. It sounds amazing - but it really better not just fade out at the end. That was one of the things that p'd me off about ISOS4 was that Only One faded away, instead of ending on a final note, unlike EVERY other ISOS album did.
so overall, as far as track selection goes; some pretty slick stuff [minus those two tracks in the middle].
CD2 , on the other hand, is just all right. there's some good stuff, but overall i think nothing really stuck out except for the last few tracks. Helsinki Scorchin' is hot, and the way out west one is good too. of course, i haven't really listened to these as much, because i rally liked the CD1 tracks a lot. but i think it strikes me as odd that CD1 has a lot of vocals, but CD2 barely has any at all. was that done on purpose?
i still think i'll get this one. i'm a fan of most of the stuff on there. and really, like most of the ISOS stuff before, if i didn't like it at first, a few more listens and it will grow on me. i know a few have mentioned that the mixing is bad. which i guess is a disappointment. but then again, i think sometimes it is nice for moods/styles of tracks to change through-out the course of an album. even ISOS3 shifted gears a little. and the theme of this one seems to be present through-out CD1. it's not like there's something that comes out of nowhere and makes me think, "wtf, why is this here?"
on a side note, who made the isos.net site? because there's a track [perfect silence] missing from the tracklisting on ISOS4 [as well as being skipped over on the samples]. |

There really is no excuse for bad mixing, even amateur bedroom djs can mix better than Tijs these days :o
His track selection is still really good, better than any of the other Big 3 trance jocks imo, but he's lost a lot of respect from me by releasing these two crappy additions to a legendary mix compilation series.
Why didn't he just come up with a new name for these albums :(
Any way, I won't say anymore until I've actually heard this album, but I'm not expecting much now...:sadgreen: |

I have no ing clue what you're on about.
Anyways, I've got the illegal version that's been leaked, and it's not too shabby. I've heard better mixing, but meh, it's a decent album. I probably won't buy it, who knows. The first cd is muchos vocal-influenced. And the only track I've disliked so far from the bunch was that horrible abomination of a Mark Norman track, those vocals hurt my ing ears. Right now I'm on the Fonzerelli track and it's clear how this album is supposed to feel. I like it, and I could easily listen to this going to the beach or something to that effect. No, it won't break the boundaries, but that's not its intention. I might not love Tiesto, but I can't say I heartily detest this cd just to sound cool and elitest. |

the ALMOST..
the fact is : mixing isnt so terrible.. maybe especially on disc 2 is ok..
and the saddest & pitty thing is PEOPLE LIKE U TO GET THE ILLEGAL VERSION AS U SAID....
WHY U INVOLVE? STAY ON YOUR BOARDER COMMUNITY BOAT..
YOU HAVE NO REASON TO HUNT & GET THIS RELEASE..
