Compared to ASOTS or TATWs this new isos5 mix isn't anything special at all. What a pitty.

wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy over-rated IMO.

I liked "I told you so", and "empty streets". So far anyway. I think the album is yet to grow on me.

Compared to above and beyond's ty, cookie cutter show? I'd say it's a hell of a lot better than that garbage.

What annoys me in this album is the really rough mixing. It was just rough and blatant.

I really admire someone taking the brave step to try to shorten the length of tracks, and make transitions as fast as possible, to stop the listener from getting bored (incase they don't have a perfect ear for repetitive music yet), but there are programs that these people can utilise to stop rough blatant and obvious mixing.

ALl that needs to be done is to establish beatlock (in phrase), and start introducing the cued track much earlier, while the cued track is nothing but the drum beat). It would probably be best if the beat of the cued track was introduced so that it wasn't noticed. You can keep the beatmatch using the software, the entire time, and it will make the mix less obvious and rough.

From here... It's just upto the DJ to feel the music properly and turn the EQ knobs at the right time.

I'ts important to remember that mixing TOOO early will just make too much noise in the track, and it will sound horrible, so there needs to be a trade-off.

ALso, trance does need SOME build-up and breaking down of the tracks. It doesn't have to be the extent of long boring mixing some DJs have, but atleast a LITTLE bit of repition, for build-up and breaking down again (after the breakdown in the middle :p).

I think more careful and better thought out mixing would've made this album a lot better for me.

Several of the songs are nice choices, however the comp. sounds more like a Global DJ Broadcast w/ Markus Schulz episode. I miss the 'original sunrise' feeling I always got when listening to ISOS I & II.

and i will quote myself keeping bitching ..

judging from his interview he did this album for 3% die fans and not for the rest 97% as he told in Taipei..

why he choose this (ableton) way to mix ISOS V he is the only one who knows. (maybe Brian too) :toothless

Also i believe he was stoned when he mixed it... :whip:

fault and yello card to him
