no, it's time for you to grow up and turn your music down if they're polite about it. |
maybe people shouldnt be so petty in the first place. So you can hear someone's headphones in the background.
TOO BAD!
There are bigger things in life and even bigger noises on the bus to worry about than someone's headphones.
If someone asks u to turn them down its because they show complete lack of tolerence of elements of the outside world around them.
I remember i was in argentina and kids were always playing their noisy games on the bus and on the subway. People tended to ignore it or they smiled when the kid cheered because he won the game. Then i was in the canadian embassy to take care of some things. A kid was playing his gameboy and the canadian dude came over and told him to turn it off because apparently it was bothering other people (other people being him)
That just showed stark contrast in what people here think is tolerence, and real tolerence.
Because everyone whines about everything its made me numb to it and therefor id laugh in that woman's face and feel sorry for her for being so petty about life.
As for her kids? I bet they are the first ones to be rambunctious and lewd when mommy disapears. |

no its time for the complainers to figure out that life isnt pristine on public transportation. |
You're right, it's not pristine and perfect, and it's never going to be. But if everyone made an effort to be more CONSIDERATE, the TTC would be a more pleasant experience. |

Polite request, I'd turn it down a bit.
Sarcastic request, I'd tell whoever to piss off.
I have no reason to be courteous to those who fail to show same courtesy to me. |

| that...if I were a thug listenning to hip hop no average person would ever dare ask me to turn my walkman/mp3 player, so no...no way...infact i'd turn it up so I wouldn't hear their rambling....I've had someone ask me to turn down my music at a redlight...I was just pounding some techno in Scarborough....techno free zone apparantly.....i kept it at the same volume...and shook my head "no"...nah noway never going to happen......funny i turn my music off when I drive by a funeral procession though.... |

I would depend on my mood at the time, and the way the person interacted w/ me in telling/asking me to turn it down.

I would turn it down if she let me touch her breasts.
:p
I'm the biggest pushover in the world so although I would honestly turn it down AND apologize I'd like to imagine that I would say OFF rudely and turn the muthaa up. |

edit : the two kids were around 14/15 years old and they woulden't shut their mouths about how "annoying and loud" my music was...FFS I was listening to ferry corsten - punk   |
i wouldn't really want to be hearing ferry corsten - punk at any point during the day either.
they're headphones, other people are not supposed to be able to hear what you're listening to. be considerate, turn it down. i really don't think that's so much to ask. |

I would :
1.Show her the length of my favorite finger.
2.Tell her i'll turn it down if she could tell her kids to be less ugly.
3.I'd wonder why the hell im on a bus in the first place and go crazy.
4.I'd really wonder why im listening to Punk and turn it down just so I wouldnt catch a case of bad taste in music:p
(I once threw an ice ball in a very drunken state at a car blaring Traffic,t3h cheese trance and alcohol are a trigger for my getting angry.See: Me yelling at Max Graham to stop playing music @ Stereo
when he started dropping Trancey stuff. The system is so crisp at Stereo he heard and you should have seen his face.:haha: ) |

Your earphones suck. Spend some money on a pair that don't leak. I have mine up to max volume and others still can't hear my music.
Bottom line, you're at fault. I'd try my hardest to ask you politely, knowing you're already giving me a headache, but I would. And if I have to ask again, the only thing on your mind should be, "wow, my earphones ing suck."
I'd much rather listen to music I DO like that is very loud than music I hate at a low volume. For that matter, ALL music sounds like when it's heard out of earphones in someone else's ears. |
