This is a review thread. Meaning, positive and negative reviews are both welcome. Those people that were fed up with PvD stopped going already. Generally, people go out to have a good time and try to make the best of the situation.

What RoBDaWG said is totally inappropriate. Attacking personal character is the last debating method of a person who can not debate the issues.

If you know the feedback is going to be negative, skip over it. It's really that simple.

Glad you enjoyed your first experience.

You shouldn't take any of the reviews to heart, though. The most important review to the individual is always their own. Tell it how it is and then look back on it as some of the best times in your life.

Every musician on the planet plays thier biggest hits when they perform live... why the hell wouldnt they.

Maybe next time you should all get together and write the DJ a letter this way they can 100% cater to your retarded special needs.

i'm posting this on CP....

PvD, Tiesto & Blank & Jones are the only ones who have it. I never heard Tiesto spin it though.

On a side note, which venue had the loudest speakers to make your ears bleed? PvD @ Ikon on New Years 2005 or PvD @ Roseland last night?

i dunno if you can make the dj - every musician on the planet comparison... bands play their own songs... they only have a certain number of songs. a dj has access to thousands upon thousands of songs available, and is expected to come up with new fresh stuff to keep fans on board. i mean for 's sake people probably send van dyk 1000 records a month. maybe if he had a monthly/bimonthly residency somewhere in the city he'd get back to playing like he did a few years ago.

as for playing the same track twice in a set... referenced earlier... it can be super effective. i remember one of the best sets i ever heard was at wmc by mr van dyk in 2003, right around when he started hammering nothing but you (summer '02 i think). he dropped the track 3 times at space miami and the place just errupted every time, it was sweet!!

Wow, and Meredith introduced me to Brandon (the ATLTA) as the angriest NYTA. :nervous:

Just because we didn't like the last 4-5 tracks doesn't mean we didn't like the rest. They aren't his best tracks and it's annoying when he blocks them together to end the night. He could at least mix them up in the set

Also, we met at Ferry's birthday, though I don't really recall much because I was absolutely wasted. My pic's in barosoap's avatar.

Wow, I haven't seen that DJMikeyMike quote (possibly stolen elsewhere) in a long time :tongue3

Yes, I have to side with Yan and Lunasea - regardless of Rob Dawg's outburst, I stand by my opinion and rest assured that yes - I won't be going to PvD parties anytime soon. It's a shame that PvD has chosen to take the well-beaten path of playing "tested and approved" records.

I really want to attend a set by PvD that would read something like this:

1. ID
2. ID
3. ID
4. ID - CHOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!
5. ID - OMFG
6. ID - WOW, THAT SONG JUST ROCKED THE PLACE
7. ID - IS THAT A NEW PVD CHOON?
8. ID - PVD IS REALLY BANGING THE TONIGHT, DID HE GET A CRATE FULL OF WHITE LABELS?
9. ID - MAN, DOES THIS GUY EVER STOP?
10. ID - BTW, ANYONE NOTICE HE LOST HIS LAPTOP AND WENT BACK TO RECORDS/CD'S? THE FLOW OF THE SET!!! WOW:crazy:

...well, you get the point.
