and there's more where that came from.

Well my Avs got rocked last night... hard to change strategies after a 7-game series. Didn't make my picks but here they are, despite one game over already. Didn't do too good on my round 1 picks. I think I got half right so I hope these will do better:

Western Conference:
Detroit Vs. St. Louis
Detroit in 5
Tkachuk will go back to his old ways of sucking in the playoffs and Brent Johnson will have a flashback to last year's series with the Avs. All of the Wings are clickin now and this should be over fast.

Colorado Vs. San Jose
Colorado in 6
I know I have a game advantage already but this was my pick from the beginning. Avs are almost totally healthy (LET'S GO BLAKE) but the Sharks are grittier than the Kings. These will all be close games but look for the Avs forwards to expose the Sharks D in the next couple games.

Eastern Conference:
Carolina Vs. Montreal
Montreal in 6
The two games that Carolina win will be either in overtime or a 2-1 game. Theodore is on fire and the only thing to let him down now is his offence but the Canes defence is weak and Gilmour will shine again. Plus the only reason I'm giving Carolina 2 wins is because I think the Habs want to win at home.

Toronto Vs. Ottawa
Ottawa in 7
I hate the Leafs. God, do I hate the Leafs haha. Lalime will outshine in Cujo, for once. This really depends on if Havlat and Alfredsson can keep up their scoring from Round 1 and if Sundin is still injured. Very close, and boring if I may add, series but I believe CBC will have to find another team's dick to suck on after Toronto is eliminated.

So there's my picks for round 2. Let's hope that it'll be as good as round 1. LET'S GO AVALANCHE!!!
Stylez
Ottawa in 7??......:stongue: :stongue: :stongue: :stongue: :stongue: hahahaha......that's the funniest thing I've heard. Only from an Avs fan....:stongue:

Boring?? .... any Toronto even preseason ones are more exciting than any of the teams out west.

My official prediction for round 1:

Western Conference:

Vancouver vs. Detroit: Vancouver in 6, Yep, that's right!!!
Los Angeles vs Colorado: Colorado in 6
Phoenix vs. San Jose: San Jose in 7
Chicago vs. St. Louis: Chicago in 7

Eastern Conference:

Montreal vs. Boston: Montreal in 6, Yep, that's right!!!
Ottawa vs. Philadelphia: Ottawa in 6
NJ vs. Carolina: Carolina in 6
Islanders vs. Toronto: Islanders in 4

All of the teams are quite strong. This should be the best playoffs in a while.

5 for 8 isn't bad...

For round 2.

St. Louis vs Detroit: St. Louis in 7. They shocked Dallas last year. Why not again. They looked very good against Chicago.

San Jose vs. Colorado: Colorado in 6. Just too powerful.

Montreal vs. Carolina: Montreal in 7. We need a canadian team in the finals.

Ottawa vs. Toronto: Ottawa in 6. Toronto will get lucky a couple of times and their whining will pay off. IT WON'T BE ENOUGH THIS TIME THOUGH. HAHAHAHAHA.

Leafs suck

hahahaha the west is soooooo much better than any team in the east.
the eastern conference is weak shiet.. :stongue: :stongue: :stongue: :stongue: :stongue:

i know east is in pathetic. u can all shove ur in neutral zone trap up ur ass. especially ottawa. such a in boring style, it makes me want to vomit
CraveTheRave
The only way the Leafs are gonna win is if they officially name the refs, goal judges, video judges, linesmen and Bettman to their roster instead of keeping them in their own suits and uniforms. And how can you say the West is boring?? Do you want us to play the trap to slow it down for you ppl to keep up?
sebby
Almost all the best players come from the west. See
if you can name them all.

As for the east, hmmm, I'm trying to think of them. No
one from Carolina. Montreal, only Theodore, the rest are
semi stars. And don't say Koivu. His popularity doesn't
mean he's one of the best players out there. Ok, Ottawa
has some nice young stars, but where's the playoff experience.
Last but not least, Toronto. Sundin's not playing, right?
Hmmm, let's see....there's CUJO. Mogilny was better in his
earlier years. Can't seem to think of anyone else. Kaberle,
that Ex-King can suck my dick.

Colorado or Detroit alone has more well-known players than
the east combined. San Jose has some talented forwards and
St. Louis has tremendous defensemen. Well, there you have it.
West clearly dominates East.

Anyone who thinks different is on crack.
mr. poopyhead
yo, i was just thinking today... once the avs and wings win their respective series, and once the leafs and habs win (please god!), we're going to have the BEST conference finals EVER...

wings vs. avs - ALWAYS a hard hitting series, fun to watch. these are the two most STACKED teams in the entire league. it'll be like watching the allstar game, but with hitting... man... sooo stacked... avs have got, roy, blake, foote, sakic, forsberg, tanguay, hejduk, drury....am i missing anyone? detroit's got, hasek, chelios, lidtrom, yzerman, shanny, hull (i HATE that hull! =P), robataille, federov... yeah... i've just named a good chunk of the allstar teams here, =P... STACKED. [drool].. i can't wait... i wanted detroit to sink soo badly in the fits round, but now i'm kinda glad they made it...

leafs vs. habs - since the leafs moved to the east a few years back, there'll be no more leafs vs. habs finals... but this will be the next best thing. not exactly 2 stacked teams... but they both be fighting for hockey pride... its not just hockey here, its city pride at stake... its gonna be great..

so assuming my predictions go through... err.. not really predictions... just HOPING... we're gonna see america's dream series, and canada's dream series.... its gonna be the best 2 weeks of hockey EVER... lets just hope.... wings, avs, habs, leafs....
sebby
Mr. Poopyhead has a good point. Poopyhead...that's a
pretty good handle by the way...hehe...Not only did I
predict this frozen four NHL version, but also thought
it would be cool to see Detroit vs. Colorado and
Toronto vs. Montreal.

The funny thing about it is that back then Colorado
used to be Quebec and they were a part of the Eastern
Conf. while Toronto was a part of the Western Conf..
It kinda sucks that one of these two probable match-ups
can't be played in the Finals. Instead it could either
be Avs vs. Leafs, Avs. vs. Habs, Wings vs Leafs, or
Wings vs. Habs, assuming that things go according to plan.

Nevertheless, it should come down as one of the greatest
playoff finishes ever. I'm already thinking Stanley Cup
Finals, Game 7, quadruple overtime goal at 5:30am EST,..
etc. I may be asking for too much but what sucks is that
if the Finals end in 5 or 6 games, then we won't see hockey
again until October. But a great game 7 finish would
make my day...err nite..err...morning. :toothless

So far in the playoffs, I'm seeing some crazy game 1 upsets
but maybe that's just a minor setback. Besides, Detroit was
down 2-0 in round 1 and rallied to beat Vancouver in 6 games.
So, anything is possible. We might see Sharks vs. Hurricanes
in the finals. Nahhh, I don't think so. But, then again, you
never know.:toothless

shut up! don't jinx my dream conference finals! =P.... neither the sharks nor 'canes must be allowed through....
sebby
Ok Mr. Poopyhead, relax, I'm just saying what might happen.
That doesn't mean it will happen. I kinda want what you're
going for but, I'll still be happy to see any playoff hockey
match-up no matter what teams play in the finals.:toothless

Check it out, Avs killed the Sharks 8-2. Leafs won it in 3OT,
Lalime could only do so much for the Sens. This years playoffs
are full of surprises and an enjoyable one so far. Can't wait
to see the outcome.:D :toothless
