I was right about the Leafs winning it in 7. Mogilny
finally stepped up and is playing the way he should.
Wings won their series in 5, so I was off by a game. The
other two series caught me by surprise. Carolina winning
it in 6, they're no longer a joke.
The Avs must love playing hockey, as they will eventually
join the Leafs as the only two teams to play the maximum
amount of games necessary to advance after 2 rounds,...14.
I know that earlier I said that I didn't want to see a repeat
Stanley Cup winner. Forget what I said!!! I want to either
see the Wings vs. Leafs or Avs. vs. Leafs. It will be more
of an intense match-up, don't you think?
THE TWO QUESTIONS OF THE WEEK!!!!!
1) If eligible, should Sundin play?
- Yes, they cannot win without him.
- No, he is not 100% ready and will slow his team down.
2) With 5 teams remaining, who do you want to see in the
Stanley Cup finals?
If any of you guys have any questions like these, share your
thoughts and post'em up. Enjoy the other Game 7. Lates//:D :toothless |

i'd like to think that the leafs could just steamroll over carolina without sundin's help, so that he could get his wrist/skills back to 100%. but we just might need him... so... i dunno.. i'd like to see him back, but not if he risks reinjury...
as for the finals, DEFINITELY leafs vs. detroit.... i've wanted to see detroit sink ever since the start of the playoffs, and nothing would be better than to see the leafs torpedo those bastards, =P... |

Yes yes yes, the Stanley Cup winner has been narrowed down to the West cause, face it, both teams in the East don't stand a chance against the Wings or the Avs.
Detroit Vs. Colorado
Colorado in 7
I told ya my Avs want to do things the hard way. This will probably be the greatest series of all time and the eventual cup winner will come from this series. It will be an all-star game with contact. Can you imagine the top two lines of these teams are evenly matched both defensively and offensively??? WOWZAS!!! But I have to give the advantage to the greatest goalie of all-time and the rest of my Avs.
Carolina Vs. Toronto
Carolina in 6
Who woulda thought we had to choose an East opponent from these two teams?? I never gave Carolina a hope in the world and neither did New Jersey or Montreal and look where they are. The thing is, those Leafs and their enormously inflated ego still will underestimate the Canes and get smoked. I don't think the Leafs can really keep Erik Cole in check. |

leafs in 6 over carolina.
detroit over the avs in 6.
detroit over toronto in 5. |

First off I would like to say that the Sharks played with
alot of heart. Losing to the Avs in the 7th game by a score
of 1-0 is nothing to be ashamed about. The Avs played
like defending Stanley Cup Champions. Sometimes I wonder what
would have happened if Selanne scored that wrap-around goal.
Anyways, what's done is done. Moving on to the next round.
Here are my predictions....
EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS
[3]Carolina Hurricanes vs. [4]Toronto Maple Leafs
If this was the first round, I would have said Leafs in 5, but
after seeing Carolina perform their magic against the Devils and
the Canadiens, I don't know what to think anymore.
Arturs Irbe has his up's and downs. He'll probably start off good but eventually faulter as CUJO and the Leafs will win their third game 7 in just one playoff season. I just have a feeling Mogilny is due for some goals, and don't forget about Sundin. He'll probably be back somewhere in between the series and that's when things will start turning around for the Leafs.
To summarize what I just said, the Canes will lead the series early and the Leafs will do what they do best with those dirty plays and make their comeback and play the necessary 21 games to get to the Finals. My pick, Leafs in 7!!!
WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS
[1]Detroit Red Wings vs. [2]Colorado Avalanche
Hell Yeah!!! This is the moment I've been waiting for, a classic showdown between the last rivalry from the last century. The question is, "Did this rivalry carry over?" Well, with the additon of star players and Claude Lemiux not being in the line-up along with the Russian 5, it won't be as rough as it used to be. The one thing good that should come out of this series are the two best goalies going at it.
Of course you would think I would go with the Avs on this one, but they were pretty banged up by the Sharks, whereas the Wings are a well rested team with the home-ice advantage. The Avs will fight to the end, only to realize that game 7 is in Detroit and not in Colorado. I say Wings in 7!!!
Enjoy the conference finals cuz it'll be alot better than the Stanley Cup finals, especially the Wings/Avs series.Peace.//

hahah... looks like leafs in 4 now... i really hope they can sweep, they need the rest... if they can win game 2 and take all that energy into the ACC for games 3 and 4, there's no stopping them, =P...
so the leafs won last night, big deal, right? consider this...
the leafs 3rd line was:
ponikarovsky - st. john's 4 LIFE...
riechel - stopped caring about hockey after the regular season...
belak - not a very good winger, not a very good defenceman, =P
then you've got don maclean, jeff farkas, and some other st. john's kids floating around the roster... DANG... we own, =P |

Okay, I guess I was wrong. I'm no psychic, but with
everything that happened before game 1, I thought I
made a good prediction. I still say that the Canes will
put up a fight, but the Leafs will still advance. Can't
wait to see the Avs/Wings match-up. It should be intense.
