As for the east, hmmm, I'm trying to think of them. No
one from Carolina. Montreal, only Theodore, the rest are
semi stars. And don't say Koivu. His popularity doesn't
mean he's one of the best players out there. Ok, Ottawa
has some nice young stars, but where's the playoff experience.
Last but not least, Toronto. Sundin's not playing, right?
Hmmm, let's see....there's CUJO. Mogilny was better in his
earlier years. Can't seem to think of anyone else. Kaberle,
that Ex-King can suck my dick.
Colorado or Detroit alone has more well-known players than
the east combined. San Jose has some talented forwards and
St. Louis has tremendous defensemen. Well, there you have it.
West clearly dominates East.
Anyone who thinks different is on crack. |
Hold on just one minute there. If the league went back to East vs. West, which IMO it should, I think it would be quite close. If you're just talking about the teams still in the playoffs, I see what you mean although you could've named a few more. (Ron Francis, Jeff O'Neil, KOIVU, Perreault, Hossa, Havlat, Alfredsson, McEachern, Arvedsson, Bonk...) But overall, the East is pretty stacked. Except for the Leafs though, they're . |

Yeah, but if it was East vs. West playoff style
(not the stupid all-star game), you've gotta admit,
the West would win that one in 6 games. LOL!!!
The Sharks seem to have some life in them, defeating the
Avs 6-4 in a close one. Meanwhile, Patrick Lalime came
through for the Sens again. Almost had another shutout,
but the team got a little carried away at the end.
Looks like the Red Wings will surpass round 2 easier than
anyone thought, while the Avs are in a struggle but should
manage to come back and take care of the Sharks.
In the east,....
I know I predicted Leafs in 7 but I somehow think that the
Sens will hang on to win with the excellent goaltending of
Lalime. Meanwhile, the Canadiens should advance with the
help of Theodore. Besides, they're playing games 3 and 4 at
home, which means alot. :toothless |

| The West definitely does have the better teams. That doesn't mean that they'll win the cup though.;) |

1996 - Colorado
1997 - Detroit
1998 - Detroit
1999 - Dallas
2000 - New Jersey
2001 - Colorado
5 out of the last 6 cups went to the west.
it has no meaning whatsoever for this year.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
Tomorrow will be a huge game in Denver but I think my Avs will pull out another grinding win. I can't believe the Habs lost last night...
I'd just like to point out how bias CBC and especially Cherry is to the Maple Leafs... during the intermission of Game 3 of the Leafs/Sens game, Don Cherry was talking about the Leafs being down and why and he said "it's because their Europeans are scoring. OUR Europeans aren't producing..." WHAT THE HELL DOES OUR EUROPEANS MEAN!?!?!?!?!? IDIOT!!! Another reason why I hate the Maple Leafs :D |

don't even get me started on don cherry. i actually liked toronto and cujo from the beginning of the year leading up to the start of the playoffs but thanks to him and his biased bull, i am soooooooooooooo ANTI-MAPLE LEAFS right now.
GO SENS!!! kick their ass on sunday and send don cherry bandwagon jumping to another team. :toothless |

I agree whole-heartedly. The CBC bias toward the Leafs is disgusting. Don Cherry only gets to talk about the Leafs for 5 minutes a night. Bob Cole and Harry Neale talk about them the whole game. They're always calling the game from the Leafs point of view. ie: "THEY need 1 to tie it." or "THEY lead by one with xx:xx to go." Bastards.:whip: :whip: :whip:
But give Bob Cole credit, he finally learned the names of the Ottawa players. It was funny last year during the first few games of that series.
Thankfully we only have to put up with this crap for 1 more game.
What a play by Alfredsson...:D :D :D |
