He is SUCH a goat! Anyway, I hope he reads our comments to his speech and continues laughing. Also, the 'autograph' comment is very true. Bouncers guard him like a virgin girl. But he's so tall, he holds his hands over everyone's heads 7 feet in the air. I jumped up to graze those marvelous fingers.
If that was me DJing at Crobar, and some retard washed-up ex-NBA player ran on stage shaking his ass, I would NEVER go back! I give the man sooooo much credit for sooooo many reasons.
Glad I never wrote anything malicious, since he browses around here. I actually think I mentioned 'Tijs' and 'sex' in the same sentence multiple times... |

I really liked the interview. Not the same monotone interviews like all the other 10000 ones. I also found Tiesto very honest and direct with he's answer, not ashamed of what he does, and conscious of every single criticism.
I have to agree with an earlier comment about he's mixing.
He mixed the same before and nobody bitched, but as soon as he got the spotlight, it got a cool phenomenon to crave every single detail to bring him down.. and what better then have all the technicalities in the hot zone.
Tiesto brings some good points and a different perspective. Some people enjoy going seen a DJ for he'x mixing, others for the tracklist.. its obvious that most the people go for the tracklist. |

At least he came out and said he's not perfect. There are many DJs who will have a few hiccups with beatmatching and they will swear it never happened or it was intentional for effect.
He just straight up says that's what he does, who he is, etc...and it's true, he's always had issues with his transitions...just back in the day his programming, presence, vibe, etc would be king and no one gave a about any mishaps he had. |

Haha. Well its no big loss judging by what most of TA thinks.
I like how people here think "exciting mixing" = ing up
Exciting mixing is when you try crazy and make it sound clean. But I guess thats just me. |
Although for the most part I disagree with you in the points you make, I completely agree with you here.
I dont see how Tiesto managed to get out of the whole question of y mixing just by admiting first of all that it was , and secondly, by claiming that this makes his mixes "exiting".
IMO thats complete bull and I cant believe people on TA are just accepting that answer  |

I could give a if he says he isnt perfect. that doesent excuse his mixing. Im sure DJ Sammy doesent think he's perfect. doesent make him any less cheesy.
the man is full of excuses. first it was that he wasnt used to CDJs, now the rough trasnitions are his style...so wait when he was trainwrecking with CDJs he wasnt used to them but when hes doing it with ableton its edgy mixing?? cut the , tiesto...
the point is..ISOS 5 sucked.... worse than 4, which sucked pretty bad in itself. I dont care if he wishes to admit it or not, those who know all about mixing will tell you its crap as far as the transitions go. and thats inexcusable from a professional DJ. |

I like to point out an undenyable fact that when you are on the top, more and more people will likely to bash you.
They expect the DJ much more than when they weren't as famous. And when the DJ isn't performing at their expectations, they bash.
Also, when a person say "Tiesto's mixing sucks!", I wonder, is that person a better DJ compared to Tiesto? If he is, why doesn't he show it to the community that he can do better than Tiesto?
Just my 2 cent =)
Great interview btw! |
