OKAY, THIS IS OUT TO TIESTO, CAUSE I KNOW HE READS TA!

I'm coming to see you when you come down to Vancouver. I don't care about the way you mix or whatever, just come on down and drop the like the way you always do.

BTW, please stay after and sign autographs, I'll bring my copy of ISOS5 and I'll say I'm that crazy guy on TA.

didn't he say he only read the reviews of his music?

As long as Tiesto plays superb tracks in his sets I don't care if he trainwrecks sometimes. I am not saying that it doesn't bother me but his superb track selection is what made him stand out when I first heard him in 2000 and even to this day. He is probably the best dj as far as track selection goes in the trance scene and that is what made him number 1 (in my view and many others). I have around 80 of his sets that prove to me that this is true :toocool:

Barely any DJ would ever admit they go around to some board to read people's thoughts on him in general...but I imagine the majority of them who do read boards in some fashion pay just as much attention to these types of threads as they do to the track/set review threads. :p

in aye. I really couldnt give a toss about tiesto one way or the other, but cmon, what the hell is mixing on the edge? Mixing is either tight or it is not. Mixing on edge implies he's pushing some sort of envelope but still pulling it off.

If thats his style, then "rough transitions with deliberate off beatmixing" would be more appropriate I think

Yeah - thats probably just as well knowing how heated other sections get when mentioning the T word.

Well you're certainly a good spokesman for that 3% then :stongue:

Tiësto's mixing has always been the same. Back in the day nobody cared, but the first time he hit #1 it was suddenly cool to hate him... so the very same people who loved him the year before for his controversial mixing now hated him for the very same reason.

doesn't sell itself. Stop living in a dreamworld.

Very True Mr. Mystery

Tiësto at the Loveparade 2006.

After two years of waiting the Loveparade will make it's comeback in Berlin on July 15th.

We are proud to announce that Tiësto will have his own truck during this 13th episode of the worldwide known Loveparade. But that is not all, when the parade is finished he will also play as on of the headliners at the grand final at the Siegesaule!

All the time. You have people working for you that do practically everything, you have a team of people working behind you, the whole point is to let you concentrate on the DJing. I know people who bust their ass promoting events, getting new fans, digging through tons of music and evolving their playlist, handling their own bookings, booking line-ups, while having rock solid mixing all the time, and some of these guys/gals aren't known almost at all. Most of them have to juggle that between regular 9-5 jobs just to be able to get by.

I could not live with myself if I charged 10,000 people 55$ to come see me play and I didn't give it 110% of what I was capable of.

I understand that touring is hard, it takes a toll, and its rough travelling, but evryone has to go through the same , and really, its a hell of alot easier for a guy like Tiesto who has huge resources than the lesser known guys busting their ass to make it.

Wow clovis that point is oldschool and i thought someone like you would understand. Of course there are many DJs in TA that would make Tiesto look like a novice, but they aren't signed, who is going to hear them besides TA's. I know a producer who made 2 tracks that hit the top of the charts and all doors opened for him, radio shows, gigs, you name it. The next day he bought himself dj equipment, how does this person have all the attention without any dj experience? hmm. i hear artists on ETN that trainwreck 5x more than tiesto does and why is that? How come the best dj's on TA aren't on DI.FM or ETN? answer that for yourself.

mega death for clovis.

I'm not just talking about TA DJs, and it was in response to the pressures of being a big DJ being detrimental to their mixing/performance.
You're talking about producers getting known...what does that have to do with anything I said? We all know producers get more attention quicker than just DJs, there was a Damian Lazarus interview posted just a few days ago where we talked about just that. That the best TA dj's aren't on ETN...well, some are, and some aren't, what does that have to do with my point? You hear more trainwrecks on ETN? Well I don't listen to ETN...go figure. There are always going to be DJs who somehow get a radio show or get a few gigs here and there, I'm not talking about them. I'm talking about the ones busting their ass to make a name for themselves, who have the skills to back it up, and who, regardless of the pressures of juggling DJing and regular jobs, and promoting/running nights, still manage to put 100% into every performance.

I dunno why I even bother arguing about tiesto anymore and really I think I'll just refrain from reading any threads about him, but making asinine comments about ableton live as an excuse for bad mixing on a studio CD is just lame.

Producers getting more attention than dj's is old news, these dj's work so hard and bust their ass like you said, and why aren't they getting the attention they deserve? Read again.

Just becuase of several dj's doing all the work doesn't mean they will get the respect that tiesto has. Do you know how many good flawless trance dj's there are? more in the thousands, how are we suppose to pick our favorite?

Just a debate clovis, you know your the coolest :p
