i was inspired by how hard the US fought today.
i think i'm done following the WC... we'll see i feel when argentina's next game comes around.
this team/game reminds me of the CIV and holland game. the US/CIV had both, inexperience, and the ref against them. i saw the US blow some great opportunities to at least tie the game, if not take it because of poor decisions. not to mention some bad passing... all on top of the ref'ing.
i think what upsets me the most about this loss is the fact that my dream of football being upfront, and on the mind of every man, woman, and child in this country has been shattered for the time being.
after we re-organize our coaching/team, we STILL have to work a million times harder to put this sport in our national concious. i think once the US truley becomes a futbol nation, we're really gonna start rocking it in the WC. we really need more support in this area... it's not just about the fans, but the more people that are into the game, the larger the pool of talent becomes. the more chances we have of putting our very best athletes in the field to represent us. |

+1 well said.
Its funny how everyone around the world who actually know and follows the sport without any bias do agree with the problem with the refs.
Its those who are blinded with the anti-american sentiment who fail to see this and just jump on the anti-american team bandwagon. |

The following problems happend this tournament:
1. Was the media from the US point of view. They really blew thier expectations out of the water and turned a great tie with Italy into the greatest game ever yet they didnt beat them congrats on that:p
2. The Coaching was just dead awful. I believe for one of the matches he started Beasley who is by far their best player on the right to start some n00b on the left. Beasley had a tournament because of this and his manager didnt help him out one bit. I was shocked at that. Also how does Eddie Johnson who came on during the Czech game and showed his talent not get the nod not even once!! Its insane he is probably the biggest young talent in the MLS (adu sorry my fellow euros he is no where near ready).
3. The ways to fix it has to be the manager he needs to get sacked if he stays on I have no idea how he did it. I was quite impressed with the passion the US fans showed even though I still hate them gotta nod your head to them starting to get into footy.
4. Can they please enter the Copa America!!! I think what benefits most of these powerhouses is having big tournaments like this and the euro/copa america every 2 years. Bruce Arena has been the one to reject the chance to play in it and I believe its a mistake. |

Bruce Arena needs to go. They need a new coach, someone like Mourinho. |

excellent points
also add
5. Obrien didnt see one minute of play time and lack of confidence from Donovan. (steming from not going overseas to play) |

Yeah :wtf: at Obrien I mean i know the guy has more injuries than Michael Owen (yes england fans its true:eyes: ) but he is an experienced player used to play for one of Europes biggest clubs yet he sees no time not even when 2 starting defenders miss a match.
I think Arena ate some bad Falmmkuchen (sp) |
