Foiled again by a HORSE PENALTY!!!
It's pretty obvious the refs are against us just like half of TA. And it's also obvious dives have become a tactic of this so-called "beautiful" game. It's amazing to see players get nicked in the chin and go down rolling around like they just got shot. Gimme a in break.
Ghana sure are good at dives and wasting time with "injuries". They ought to match up dive for dive with Brazil.
And to all the American bashers in this thread, EAT ! |

maybe all the media attention they got (not alot but more than the average) for this took its toll and they felt the pressure of companies like Nike & ESPN breathing down their necks pushing for good results? |
dont be silly. no one expected USA to go far. |

I didn't catch the Czech game where 3 got past him, so I don't know if they were even stoppable. |
they were nice goals, not Kellers fault.I havnt seen todays game yet but he did stand out vs Italy at least.
Ben sports in general is losing popularity in the states cause there is so much more on TV nowadays, people be4 (and currently in South America and other countries with ty tv)had to see the game cause almost nothing else is on.Its up to sports dorks like me to keep it alive :toothless
also chill, I hope you didnt come back to the forum to troll ;)

You sound like a petulant child. I never said Keller was the best keeper in the world, I merely said he wasn't the weakest part of the team like you said. The U.S. losses had nothing to do with Keller. It was miserable defenders at times and no threat of an attack at all.
When did I ever say Landon was the greatest? Gimme a break, I clearly wouldn't state that. I hate when people put words in my mouth. |
I wouldn't say Keller is the best keeper, but I've seen some impressive goal tending from him in the Italy game and the segments that I caught today. I didn't catch the Czech game where 3 got past him, so I don't know if they were even stoppable.
I might be wrong, but I thought he gets a lot of respect in the international circuit as a keeper. I know he got the MVP in the CONCAF Gold Cup win against Brazil in '98 (yeah, remember, the US beating Brazil, what happened that day LOL) and Romario had some great things to say about his performance in that match. |

another thing about the US....does anyone else think like me that this hole "new ballgame" maketing ploy had a reverse effect on the players. I think that they can gather up interest by just results like in 2002. I remember no one knew what was going on lol but then after they came home and serious interest errupted....maybe all the media attention they got (not alot but more than the average) for this took its toll and they felt the pressure of companies like Nike & ESPN breathing down their necks pushing for good results? |
yeah I saw that attitude in the Czech republic game, players looked so nervous, especially after Kollers goal. |
