that would be difficult. i think a lot of the teams still use NFL stadiums and i dont think they would be able to schedule games during that time. i think that's one of the reasons why they play during the summer. |
According to the MLS every team will have thier own stadium by 2007-2008. So it is possible. Frankly with the state of the NHL/NBA becoming less and less popular and plumiting ratings its a perfect scenario. They also need to scrap that playoff thing.. |

You can also turn baseball fields into football pitches without too much investment :) - now there's a ing dying sport!
Bunch of overpaid, fat millionaires sitting, spitting terbakky and watching two twats - one throwing the ball and the other trying to hit it. While the rest of the juiced-up fatty meatheads are getting a suntan.
These douches don't even play when it rains!!! meh! |

I still cant belive about that PK shot :(. That could of changed everything for us, but instead, Ghana got the momentum. Either way, we would of still lost to Brazil the next round. Time to move on Bruce Arena.
Anyways, good luck to Ghana, at least something good happend for thier country. |

Why in every U.S. football (soccer) thread there is slagging on other American sports? I don't go crowing about cricket or rugby which are a complete wastes of time to me. Or moronic motor sports or whatever. Basketball and baseball are not dying, they are actually becoming more popular globally, just not in Europe. The Euro's on here like to think that because it's not popular in their countries, therefore it's ONLY popular in the U.S. When look at Japan, South Korea, all the Latin America's, etc. in baseball. Look at Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Germany, Russia, Lithuania, etc. in basketball. This is a football thread about U.S. vs. Ghana, not yet another avenue to state your anti-America politics or anti-American sports rhetoric.
Ben, you actually make a lot of good points besides the hate for the country that you spend a great deal of time living in. |

Hate because of what America has, and is. Nothing more man. There are others teams that suck in the WC, but you only seem threads that go 10 pages when you have USA in it. Kind of reminds me of Tiesto threads :stongue: |

dont you need to suck on US "soccers" media dick...kasey keller best gk in the world. landon is the greatest bla bla bla |
You sound like a petulant child. I never said Keller was the best keeper in the world, I merely said he wasn't the weakest part of the team like you said. The U.S. losses had nothing to do with Keller. It was miserable defenders at times and no threat of an attack at all.
When did I ever say Landon was the greatest? Gimme a break, I clearly wouldn't state that. I hate when people put words in my mouth. |

I wanted Serbia and Holland to make it through :(. Especially watching Stankovic (sp?) in Serie A. Deserved a much better fate. |
Yes mate, But Stankovic was bad this World Cup, Unfortunately.
Things can only get better from now though :) |

Doesnt mean a thing I stated my hate for it when I was living there and couldnt wait to get out....but the bitches man the bitches;)
and on the second comment I was overreacting mostly because I was talking to some american n00b who IMed me b4 the cup and said USA was going to win the WC
and about the other sports i wasnt slagging them off just telling the truth about the popularity decreasing some what. emc ran with it ;)
also Kapedan your statements are what everyone hates about America |

I wouldn't say Keller is the best keeper, but I've seen some impressive goal tending from him in the Italy game and the segments that I caught today. I didn't catch the Czech game where 3 got past him, so I don't know if they were even stoppable. |

| another thing about the US....does anyone else think like me that this hole "new ballgame" maketing ploy had a reverse effect on the players. I think that they can gather up interest by just results like in 2002. I remember no one knew what was going on lol but then after they came home and serious interest errupted....maybe all the media attention they got (not alot but more than the average) for this took its toll and they felt the pressure of companies like Nike & ESPN breathing down their necks pushing for good results? |
