I think the best thing to do for Aria would be to start booking not-so-big international DJs and have all of their resident nights branded and promoted in that way...it's already starting with Conduct, Trance all nite, Pressure and Creator 6hour...Maus needs a branded name for one of her nights once a month,
Also, with some research, experimenting and genoristy others that have amazing skills behind the decks and that are waiting for the chance should be given that chance, take the young talent before the others do. Maybe once a month give someone a chance to spin as a guest with some residents...
-Every resident night to be branded and promoted that way
-Young new talent to spin with residents whose sounds are compatible
-A well-known international DJ once a month (..the only time Aria could afford to spend a little more money...if promoted well and if the price at the door is 20-25 it can be succesfull)
-An international DJ that isn't so popular once a month or bi-monthly (there's so many out there that are not expensive and are definately worth checking out, will make the night successful)

More women... thing is even if women get in for free they see the place is empty and doesn't have the aesthetic appeal that Circus has. Give girl passes out to Strip Clubs, retail stores where funky/hot girls shop. Give girl passes out to promoters (I don't think they have them anymore though) or people in general that will be able to give them to girls that will go.
In my experience at Circus, when they go through promotion phases with girl passes you always see certain very attractive women there every week, then when the passes go away they disappear until the reappearance of it again.
What JFL is doing -is- the smartest thing to do, which is to attract a loyal customer base that will attend on a weekly basis, doing so is a difficult task indeed.
If it were possible to target first-time Ecstasy and other drug users, that'd be a good niche market too. I find lots of people that start taking pills for the first time will want it to be in that type of place to have the full experience, those are the people that will get hooked into going every week for the first few months/years. |
