Either way, I heard this from one source and i just wanted to double check. Farbeit for me to spread rumours, im the happiest out of all to hear that it was just a rumour and nothing more.

Aria need good music, without 2 headliner per mouth, you couldn't run a BIG club like this. back in 2002-2003, big line-up=full club.
Ex. Danny Howells. A night like this is suppose to be damm full, for the ones who was in there, it wasn't, and I was very suprised!
When I say good music, it's not against all the resident who work for the club. I mean Creator, Nick, Mini ect, everybody' doing a great job but I prerfer go see Mini at Parking, when is crowded and the music is so good, than see Mini at Aria on Friday night when I'm alone with the two dealers in the club. (Anyway, she don't play the same music at all!!!)
Where are Armin, Marco V, Richie Hawtin and James Holden, Deep Dish and Carl Cox, Steve Lawler, Josh Wink, and Donald Glaude, Derrick Carter and Mark Farina, Guy Ornadel and Gabriel and Dresden. We need people who can play with Ableton like a chief play with a cooking knife, DJ who can mix 110 prog track in 5 hours. When I go into club I don't want to hear the same track week after week after week.
I think the priority of the club change, they just don't give a about the music in the electronic room, and that's why the club is so empty. Even the staff begin to leave because of this... so open your eyes and see what going on, we don't need red carpet and shinny disco ball, we need music.

lee burridge will be coming back to montreal
he will not be coming to aria as far as ive been told
JohnH20, you hit the nail on the head.
Aria cant afford these dj's anymore.
instead we get chicago house acts that were good bookings in 1998.
I wasnt at Howells, but i am pretty sure i know why it wasnt full. Its called promoting, and even the biggest dj's will play to empty rooms if no one knows about it.Since louis got let go, promotion has been relativly non existent online, and any other outlet has been totally non existent. How are you going to fill a club with the new generation, if you dont advertise. Most of the old school aria heads wont be caught dead there.
ING DO SOMETHING PLEASE |

| John_H2O you are talking about bigheadliners but it is impossible for afterhours to bring big names anymore because tobacco companies dont support the afterhours and headliner prices have gone up too. but a new concept with better residents like you said would attract more people to aria with more people going there you can raise your entrance prices too then you can have your headliner even you know that you wont be making as much money as in the resident nights. |

John H20, I don't think that you are reading my post?
I am saying that we don't want big headliners anymore, it's not that we don't care about the music, it's because these dj's are too expensive these days and every time you book a dj, you loose money.
It was like that in 2001 and it's still the same in 2006.
I am really tired to repeat myself again and again, it's impossible to make money with big, well known dj's! Only Tiesto and Danny Tenaglia can bring money.
Just for an example, Ferry is playing Aria Sept. 2 but Armin is booked in Montreal Sept. 3. Both clubs will loose money and Montreal can't afford to have two big dj's like this the same week-end.
But there is always new promoters who think they can do better and make money out of it.
You should understand that we used too book all the big dj's, why do you think we don't book them anymore? If it would be so good, we would have never stopped it. |
