ur talking like a 5 year old kid in a playground, England are hardly , teams don't qualify for the World Cup. England are just very average, the trouble is the press and expectation levels of the English public are higher than the quality of the team, we build it up and build it up just for it all to get too as it always does!!!

Yeh I wud agree with u there - ur media is such a problem, I wudnt mind seeing England win if it wasnt for having to hear about it for the next 40 years - u have good players but they just dont play well as a team

yeah i get pissed off about the team of 66, obviously i can appreciate them as they won us the World Cup but that was 40 years ago, England have to stop riding on that wave, i want them to at least win the World Cup once in my lifetime and be remembered for now, not 40 years ago, other nations don't do this!!!

U are talkin crap, he knew wot he was doing and completely meant it. Lets face it he has done it before, he is not this world beating unbelievable player u think he is, ur media build up players to god like status when in fact this guy is 20 and done not very much in his career so far....

Face it England r , they have good players indiviually but they do not play as a team....

Do you really think that Rooney who rushed to become fit for this tournament, would deliberately stamp on a player 5 feet from the referee in the q/final of the world cup? dont be a pleb.

If you watch a real time reply you can see hes getting tangled up fighting for the ball. Instead of doing what most people do and perform a dying swan act on the floor, Rooney stayed up and battled for the ball, which is what makes him such a good player. Legs got tangled, balance was knocked and in an attempt to stand, landed his leg on RC, who was in a heap on the floor. If players werent obsessed with causing a huge drama everytime someone makes a tackle then chances are he'd still be on the field.

If Rooney was going to get "revenge" for the tackle last season he wouldnt do it in a q/final.

I'm sorry but what a pile of utter dog this statement is. We maybe didnt play that well for some of the world cup but the players we have make us a very powerful team. Also anyone not blind would realise we outplayed Portugal for an hour with only 10 men. We also qualified easily. Sven is mostly to blame with his tactics but we are hardly and a comment like that is just something i would expect from a bitter scotsman with their bunch of nothing achieving never qualifying sporting no-marks.

There was just one thing that really pissed me off in this world cup, is the ammount of ass diving, and crying.....for sake, they cant hide, 40 thousand people see them do it, and the slow mo replays with catch there every move.

I thought what Henry did was awful, which resulted in France getting a free kick out side the box, and them scoring.

Can everybody remember Rivaldo near the corner flag in the last world cup?

Stick them on a Rugby pitch, that will sort them out.

I am all for having live replays in the stadiums for the officials to watch before making their decision, there were so many poor ones in that game, its unbelievable. Dives left right and centre, the players wouldnt do it if they knew that it was gonna be shown to the whole world before the ref makes his decision:)

I thought england played alrite for 10 men, just didnt finish well enough. And, lets be honest, once the whistle was blown for the end of extra time, there was only gonna be one outcome, we cant take pens for :whip:

yeah that was in classic, the ball was passed to him and it gently hit him in the stomach, and he when down like a bag of holding his face, resulting in getting his opponent sent off!!!!

I keep watching the replay over and over again, and still can't work out if it was intentional or not. I don't think it was just a case of Rooney regaining his balance. But I agree Ronaldo was complete idiot for interfering and has such a huge ego I'm surprised he was able to fit it in the stadium.

BUT, with regard to England, they were poor, very poor. We can blame Sven all we want, but doesn't change the fact our team can't take penalties. We're not as good as we think I'm sorry to say. Penalties are not about luck or chance. They're about nerve, skill, confidence and determination. Why do England never do well on penalties? Well just look at every other team we've taken them against. Other players walk up with such confidence, England players just dread it and crumble under the pressure.

And another thing, England exuded such complacency it was disgusting. "This is our year" and "They believe they can do it" from the press and squad alike. France and its press always play down their chances and where are they at the moment? For me, there was too much arrogance and high expectations, and the media are partly to blame. When we beat Germany 5-1 in Munich, Sven was 'amazing' and now he's 'rubbish' He has the best overall record of any England manager in recent years, 3 competitive defeats and 10 draws.

Owen Hargreaves was the only player who showed guts and determination, and it was interesting that his mentality showed up the rest of the teams'. Perhaps the Bundesliga has given him an expereince which the Premiership can't, but it showed. Gerrard was a dissappointment and I was annoyed that Walcott wasn't played.
