The facts are Ronaldo was disliked a lot before the WC even started. Running around our league like a ballerina and then crashing to the floor like a sack of everytime somebody won the ball from him earned him the minor hatred.
Then his whole teams performance against Holland, France and Germany reinforced the hatred tag of a bunch of cheating, diving ******s. Just so happenes their world cup performance mashed with what he did against England topped with his antics every season in our league makes him public enemy #1.

Not to the same degree as Portugal.
Apart from Joe Cole who goes down rather easily (although there is always contact, even if it light) i know of no other England player who hurls themselves across the floor given the chance. There is a solid argument to state that if Rooney had gone flying while being hacked instead of being honest, staying on his feet and trying to win the ball then England would have likely gotten a free kick and the 'incident' would not have happened afterwards. But that comes back to your point of putting yourself at a disadvantage if you dont dive. But being English, we'd rather lose fairly than win by cheating. |

| when have i said Ronaldo was to blame for England going out??? all i said regarding the match was that he encouraged the referee to send Rooney off. Every other comment i made about Ronaldo was just personnel insults, i hated him before the World Cup and i hate him even more now, i started this thread off just as to highlite my hate for the c*nt, i have never solely blamed him for England going out, any England fan that does must be blind, we never played to are full potential, thats the reason we went out :( |

you blamed ronaldo for getting rooney sent off..if rooney had stayed on, you might have won..basically giving the impression that ronaldo was to blame for your exit..which is how i read it. not even a hint of criticism for the wildman himself for stamping on carvalho in the first place.
but fair enough if you now admit, probably with a cooler head that it wasnt really ronaldos fault at all was it. |

He didnt emply anything he called Ronaldo some names and then said he shouldn't have gone to the ref. U must have some special interpreting skills to get any blaming Ronaldo out of the first place, it never even mentions the England loss at all.
And what have u been watching to say Holland are worse than Portugal. Yes they are bad cheats but Portugal were ridiculous, the level of diving in the semi final was scandalous. Postiga's 'stepped on a land mine' dive and Ronaldo's 'walking in the air' special were a new low. Figo holding his face in a game when someone brushed against his chest. I can go on and on with the examples for Portugal, Its not even a biased view all the Germany fans hated their cheating and they never even played against them. |
