What the does this have to do with me being English? As far as I know that picture circulated after the Portugal vs France game - which is obviously what I was using it in reference to after that youtube video had been posted.

Have a think before you speak / type you thick twat.

Well fair enough, I hit quote instead of reply, I was referring to the general vibe of this thread i.e having a go at Ronaldo because England lost.

By the way, throw a few more obscenities in your replies, don't you know it makes your posts even more valid?

Partly true, tho it probably wouldnt have gotten to a shoot out if the cheating s hadn't got our team reduced.

Second answer is no. We play fair, so when another team doesn't, we get pissed.

The only thing that got your team reduced was Rooney using Carvalho's bollocks as a trampoline, if he hadn't done that you wouldn't have been down to 10 men. Simple. Mind you, England looked more likely than Portugal to score, even though they had 10 men.
Fact is though your big players didn't have the swingers to put the penalties away (apart from Hargreaves).

Anyway now you've got rid of that twat Sven, maybe McClaren will pick the best team on merit, rather than just throw all the big names onto the pitch.

Rooney did not deliberately stamp on Carvalho. I can't be arsed to argue that point any further.

Complete bollocks, he meant it, lets face it its not the first time he has lost his temper and got sent off, people know how to rile him and they will do it again cause he is a loose cannon
gibbo
The fact is that Rooney was getting fouled all over by two defenders for a good 30 seconds and the ref saw fit to do all about it. if he'd given a free kick like he should the stamp would never have happened. Anyone would get riled up with that level of fouling. The portugese cheated horrendously all tournament and especially in the semi final and their progress even that far is a bad statement about the state of the game. I'm just pleased they didnt win it as they play awful football, hardly ever score and just cheat their way through everything. The prime example in the France semi final match was Postiga's 'i've stepped on a land mine' dive in the box when nobody was even remotely close to touching him.

i live in england, but 1) i'm american 2) i dun really watch football...but anybody that plays any kind of sport knows that faking injuries, whining to the ref, pretending, etc is the lowest form of sportmanship. that's the only reason i'm here...it's sickening to see professional sports played with that kind of attitude.

and kids are supposed to look up to these players!??! :whip:

Yes it was a free-kick because Rooney was being fouled, and yes the Portuguese r ditry c*nts but he lost his head and u cannot say that he didnt mean it, his reputation for losing his head is well known - he meant to kick Carvalhio in the balls, i have no doubt about that

I never said that he didnt mean it or after it happened it shouldnt have been a red but the fact is he got riled because the referee let the portugese get away with murder. I think they went out to rile him and unfortunately with him being a chav idiot he fell into the trap. Ronaldo's sly wink to the bench after his little chat with the ref was disgusting and i hope Rooney does stick one on him when they get back to training. He deserves that and more for being such a cheat.

Quiet now, your opinion is invalid due to bias as all irish, welsh and scottish on this matter. You'll always take the opposite side to the English rather than the side of reason. I think apart from the three aforementioned countries and Portugal, pretty much every other foreigner is of the impression that Rooney's red card was a case of unfair play by the Portuguese - nothing more. This is why Ronaldo was jeered in the France game and will again be jeered in the the Germany game today.
