Quiet now, your opinion is invalid due to bias as all irish, welsh and scottish on this matter. You'll always take the opposite side to the English rather than the side of reason. I think apart from the three aforementioned countries and Portugal, pretty much every other foreigner is of the impression that Rooney's red card was a case of unfair play by the Portuguese - nothing more. This is why Ronaldo was jeered in the France game and will again be jeered in the the Germany game today. |
The Scottish even voted for Ronaldo in the FIFA young player award to try and counter act the damage we were doing by voting for someone else. |

| Good to see Germany give Portugal a final beating. Good to see them get a rough ride from the ref too. Saw they were still hurling themselves to the deck all game. |

1. rooney blatantly meant it. they were bangning on before the game about how it was carvalho that 'broke' rooney's foot against chelsea. i doubt hes the sort to forget something like that that nearly ended his world cup chances.
2. lets not pretend england have never dived. everyone does it these days
3. ronaldo was not to blame. he just saw someone stamp on his teammates nuts- id say he was rightfully outraged. the ref was going to send rooney off anyway...quite rightly as well for a disgraceful display of violence.
4. rooney has a well known temper problem. its time he started acting like the professional he is paid to be. if you want to blame anyone for his red card, blame the man himself.
5. ronaldo is a cvnt, but not because of that game
6. you lost because you have a mental weakness when it comes to taking penalties and were beaten by a very good penalty stopper. deal with it. |

why should it matter what nationality i am?
face facts-your team bottled it big time. there was a few good individual performances...but on the whole the team failed to deliver. blaming ronaldo is ing pathetic. the team actually played BETTER after the red card!
rooney is a ridiculous cvnt. his temper is well-known, it shouldnt stretch the realms of possibility too much to imagine that the stamp was intentional...and this is the view that fifa have also taken.
get ready for a tanking off us at euro 2008 :stongue: |

Oh right, your name is Wayne Rooney is it? This is exactly what gets my back up. You can't say with the certainty that you have done here that 'rooney blatantly meant it' because you simply don't know. Only one person knows whether it was intentional or not, and it sure isn't you.
A bit of subjectiveness from the English camp is to be expected, just as it would with any country that had just exited under those circumstances. But this isn't even a small patch compared with how subjective the Irish and Scottish are coming across.
You're like a bunch of circling Vultures thinking you've hit the jackpot. It's sickening to read.

I really wish you wouldn't. Your grammar is so it's like trying to piece together something a 6 year old has produced. Have a word. |

fifa have taken the view that rooney meant it. almost every commentator ive heard has said that rooney deserved a red card as well...what do you get a red card for? violent conduct.
whats 'sickening' is the pathetic palming off of the english exit on ronaldo, when its clear the team just werent good enough.
there is no gloating by me that england were out, so your 'vulture' comment is way off the mark.. for what its worth i thought england were the better team and deserved to go through on the night. the only reason i replied is because it is pathetic to see you lot trying to blame ronaldo for putting you out the world cup, and taking the line that english players are some kind of fair play ambassadors when they arent. |

Where has anybody said Ronaldo's performance is the only reason we lost? We haven't. You've all said that. Not us.
The facts are Ronaldo was disliked a lot before the WC even started. Running around our league like a ballerina and then crashing to the floor like a sack of everytime somebody won the ball from him earned him the minor hatred.
Then his whole teams performance against Holland, France and Germany reinforced the hatred tag of a bunch of cheating, diving ******s. Just so happenes their world cup performance mashed with what he did against England topped with his antics every season in our league makes him public enemy #1.
Come on, even the French and Germans were booing him! |
