Fairly good first half, altho last 10 minutes were crap. Too bad both goals were illegal, penalty kick comes from a blatant dive by Malouda, while in the 1-1 Materazzi put his hand over Vieira.
I've seen 1 or 2 dives by Ribery and 2 or 3 by, shock horror, divine entity Zinedine Zidane. Altho from all them they only shown 1 or 2 replays. I guess it was more interesting to watch Cristiano Ronaldo in slow motion over and over again yesterday. If Zidane wins the best player award it's better to protect his image, heh? |

I guess the French learnt some diving moves from Portugal. No penalty, and really great acting by Zidane...should win an Oscar.
Pirlo is doing an amazing job with that assist and 2 other corners to materazzi and toni heads.

Actually apart from the corners I haven't seen him doing much.. was expecting a bit more from him, kinda hoped he'd be voted player of the tournament for all he did in the other games.

- Thuram doing one hell of a tackle on a Luca Toni about to score.
- Lippi sucking on his middle finger. :wtf: |

Yeah your right. I was referring more to the 3 corners he took, that produced a goal and 2 very close headers, but other than that he's playing good, not bad, not superb...just good.
Would like to see more of Totti and Toni, but can't believe they'll do too much next half. I guess my only hope now is Lippi subbing Totti with Del Piero so I can cheer him up :p

Yeah, that could have been one helluva goal. Nice move by Thuram.

Poor performance at the second half by Italy.
De Rossi (with all the love I have for him) added absolutley nothing, and Iaquinta & Zambortta switching sides wasn't going well.
Lippi had to take Toni off the pitch and move Iaquinta to the striker position.
Got more to say but the game started :p
Let's hope this won't get dragged to penalties... |
