Whoa, I didn't mean the quote as an insult. You're ahead of a lot of people -- most people haven't found an ideal worth aspiring to, so I think that's commendable. How realistic said ideal is depends in large part upon step 2, the implementation. No one (should) expect you to have a fully-thought out plan on how to achieve something like worldwide positive attitudes right off. Life would be too easy if ideals were met with easily implemented plans as soon as they're discovered.

Anyway, I think it's a good thing that you've found something to believe in, and even better that you're not willing to give up on it, despite a great deal of resistance from people here.

there is terrible going on in the world, of course they aren't going to be talking about happy on the news.

I didn't really take it as an insult. I am just frusterated with people telling me I am naive and all this bull, when all I am fricken saying is to be nice to each other!! How hard/naive/fantasy ing world is that!?!?

This negativity is getting me irritated. Perfect example of what I was trying to say in the beginning.

:whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip:

P.S. Just because I am advocating positive attitudes does not mean that people can't get angry. As many have relentlessly decided to point out, not everything is rainbows and sunshine (thanks for pointing the obvious out dipsh*ts.) So for those of you who are going to say I am a hypocrite, you can suck that too.

Evidentally a lot harder than it should be. Though I wouldn't classify TA as the real world. People get all high and mighty on here, and I don't think it really represents how people would treat one another in real life. Or at least, I sure as hell hope it doesn't.

No it has not, you just focussed your attention on something that was never the topic in the first place, much like every other fricken person in this damn thread.

Im not really one to spark a philosophical conversation, but I've always believed in the balance of all things. That without hate we cannot cherish how real love affects us, or that without happiness, we would not know what pain really is. Do people believe here that its possible to achieve a utopian society where rarely bad things happen to people? or that by always acting happy that we can truly achieve a sort of earthly nirvana amongst all people? Im curious...

I couldn't help but sing that all-star music ballad made in the early 90's while reading the intial post.

We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me
