jk, it's guerilla by the way.

Well they say ignorance is bliss, and im sure it works for you. The things you hear about in the news are happening and you can't just shut them off. Sure, you can choose not to know about them, but they will continue to happen and affect many peoples lives.
How do you plan to act and make peace? posting this on the TA Chillout board is not really acting. You want to help?what kind of help would you be if you don't even have a clue about whats going on?
if you really wanted to help then maybe you should join the peace corps and go to africa to help out the less fortunate and do some humanitarian work.
in reality, i seriously doubt this world will ever find peace, it never has and it never will. We'll end up destroying ourselves sooner or later. The sooner you accept this the easier it will be when it happens.

Thanks for the correct spelling.

Your post is pretty humourous. I mean, it fits perfectly into what I am saying. You have already accepted the demise of our species; you are already dooming our futures. This negative attitude solidifies my entire point!

You're right. Just because I don't know about it, doesn't mean it isn't happening. BUT, because I don't know about it, my mood does not reflect the anger, worry, and general negativity that it would if I were aware of these things. One thing we don't need is more negativity.

If people were just a little happier, life for all of us would be that much more pleasant. I mean, if the bitch at your work who always sneers at you smiled at you instead, it would probably lift your spirits. It works like a ripple affect.

As for myself, I am working towards being an elementary school teacher where I can nurture children and teach them solid values and lessons. Perhaps this wont make a vast difference, but I think ensuring children a positive beginning will help with them doing better as they get older.

We are our own worst enemy, and we need to change this! We, the young people who will soon be the adults running this culture, need to fight against this garbage, and instead fight for what is right. Lets not run this country as a bunch of war mongering, vengeful people. Lets work together to make this place better for our children, and our childrens children. The only way we can make a difference is if we act, and what better time than now?

how do you expect to effect change in any environment if you dont first grasp the innate complexities behind all these problems? how can you fight for what is 'right' if, by your own admission, you really dont know whats going on in the world from each day to the next?

i applaud your position, but you cant fight for anything if you come to the party unarmed ;)

First of all, theres no such thing as "negative wording", those words you listed are just words. How can someone describe a war without using these words, may I ask? So why does it turn out that these words are what makes us more ignorant or evil as opposed to what the words are describing instead? Do you really think if we had no words to describe pain, misfortune, death, that we would be better off as a human race?

As misleading as your title is, the fact is your attack on the media has little to do with whats going on in Israel and Lebanon, and if the facts or truth pain your simple mind from seeing what is really going on in the real world, then you really are a waste of space on this Earth.

Words dont make people war against each other...land, religion, and oil do.

And getting angry on the internet.

Instead of recognizing the point of my post, which was to encourage general happiness, and peace, people are attacking me for my personal decision.

My choice not to be exposed to a lot of things is not up for discussion. I know a lot of people don't agree, and that is fine. Please leave it at that.

Another example of my point. Instead of focussing on the positive idea I was trying to advocate, you tear me down.

Part of life is learning how ugly it is, because regardless of the world and it's ungoing crisis, dramatic things always happen to us eventually ( on a one to one basis, with family deaths, accidents etc )
