hmm thats TRUE that the USA "rules the world", we negatively influence most of the world with our awful eating habits, effectively raising the cholesterol and heart disease levels to unheard of heights...we go into every country expecting them to speak English...intimidate other countries and try to push our beliefs on everyone...umm we have a dumb ass Presdient right now that everyone laughs at/o rather, FINALLY represents the majority slice of America (in redneck hicks that live in trailers in the MidWest -- and who could care less that their President doesn't know about foreign countries or policy in general. Looks like the smarts of George Bush skipped a generation. ugh.
hehe ever listen to George Carlin? OMG i crack up at his rendition of what being American stands for. ahahahah! |

Don't generalize. I'd rather talk to the uneducated person, and prove I can educate them, rather than assuming, and looking like more of an idiot. |
yes sir you win |

what I would like to know is why the Canadian/American BS is being brought to this forum??
Have you never had to ask the same question twice to clarify what they mean? or maybe sometimes more than twice. Not everyone uses the best terminology suited to the customer to get the point across.
Whether it was a frustration or not, the title of this thread should not be labelled with such a generalization but whatever. There are lots of not so bright people in this world. It happens and especially in Customer Service.. that is what you are there for, to help others understand. Sometimes it can be frustrating but with being in CS, you should also know that sometimes you cannot keep your wording the same. You need to break things down for people into regular everyday conversation so that they are able to understand it if they don't get it the first time.
All it takes is one simple question... Does this explanation make sense to you? Cuz you will get your answer that they do or don't understand it then change up your wording so they do :)
Guaranteed that your 20 minute conversation with that customer just turned into a 3 minute convo and you can get about 3 other tasks completed in that 17 minutes you just saved yourself :p |

I totally agree...
After doing the CSR thing for five summers...I've realized what an important role customer service reps have...
It's in the name itself = customer service = here to serve and inform the customers...no matter how dumb the customers can be. It's funny sometimes to hear the questions or responses we might get from them, but we must try to look at it in the perspective of the customer as well. |

I think you’re over analyzing a joke.... I don't mean that all American are stupid it was just a joke and any joke can be taken out of context and not what it's meant for ...a simple chuckle and then move on.... just like when callers from Alabama ask me how living in my Igloo is i don't tell them "sir that is a general sterotype about Canadians we actually...." no i tell him that he better hurry up cuz i have to take my dog slead for a walk ... |
