| Haha, talk about taking "ignorance is bliss" a little too seriously. |

but in reality, most Americans could care less about what Canadians think about them. |
Bingo!

well Jay Leno gets paid to say that. He'll make fun of his mom as long as the checks keep coming in.. its kinda like Russell Peters. Take away all his jokes about race- and what do u have? nothing |

In support of our American brethren, I've uploaded a wav file of a call I got from a customer in BC when I worked at Compaq many years ago. He was calling for the 24/7 toll free tech support line, and I explained it's open 24hrs a day, he asked if that included his province as well
Listen here: [[ LINK REMOVED ]]
This is a tip of the iceberg. I handled calls only from Canada, and Canadians can be just as stupid. |

I'm in sales and I get nickel & dimed to death.
"I usually get that item for $20 from this other company and you're charging me $25..."
Lady, it's a $20 000 order, if you want me to work with you, to develop a solution to provide results within your budget, ask me. $5 is not going to help you at all...this phone call costs more than that. |

I think that's an offensive statement to make. People should look at themselves first.
However working in retail I can relate to the stupidity (ok I know that's offensive too) of the average person out there.
I sold a (Canadian) lady a call diplay unit. She then called me from home and said I was a liar, deceitful and a cheat because the unit had been used and she couldn't erase the name and number already on the display. Stumped, I asked her what the name was on the display and she said it was " John Smith and the number was 555-1234. I politely told her to remove the sticker on the display and try it again. She hung up on me.
I could give so many more examples but you know.... |

It is definately not just americans who are idiots. There are idiots everywhere in every country. I meet countless Canadians, especially business men that boggle my mind on how they run a company let alone passed the 3rd grade. |

My girlfriend works at a call center/order desk for a distributor of glasses/frames, and deals with Americans.
She tells me about all the idiots she deals with on a daily basis. For instance:
"would you like your order to be shipped Next Day Air or 2nd Day Air?"
"uuuh...which is faster?"
"we have this frame in silver, black or brown"
"which one is darker...black or brown?"
other fun things include the mis-pronounciation of "mauve" "tres jolie" "tan" (sounds like "ten") "taupe" etc...
Well, to be fair, I'm sure theres TONS of stupid Canadians too...she just deals with the US side, so I hear these stories every day |
