No. You are just a dying breed and you know it.
Come on it's the classic musical rebellion thing... DYLAN WENT ELECTRIC MAN, HE SOLD OUT... pffttt please... it's all a psychological study that you, like most men myself included, are afraid of change...
OOOOOHHHH NOOOOO
RAVES ARE BECOMING MAINSTREAM?
SELLOUT! SELLOUT! SELLOUT!!!
Please... |
You are probably right that I am a dying breed....that being said...I don't disagree with EDM becoming more mainstream....when clubs started to bring the raves indoors and have them in a controlled environment I thought that was great.....I don't have a problem with Superstar DJs as much as I do the attitude they develop...many of them tend to believe they are greater then the music....when reality is...at least for me.....they are just the ones that spin records(another dying breed) and hopefully...if they do their job right....will get me dancing all night long...all night...all night long. |

I agree with you Chem. It does go to their head... it becomes less about the music and more about the name...
I just think you have two choices when a style of music evolves...
1) go with it
2) get left in the dust |

you guys forget the objective of that night: having fun with friends on NYE.
not trainspotting
not checking the mixing techniques of the dj
not whinning about why a track was played after that other track |
That might be very well true. But so is this...it's making all my friends and me cringe and run away. :(
It's sad.

man, this is just my opinion, but I gotta say I think you have one of the most warped ideas about edm music I've heard from this board :(

:o
Why do you think I have the most warped ideas about EDM?
You know I love some of your favorite DJ's too! Why am I the one with the warped P.O.V? |

Agreed (to some extent)..we have lots of EDM nerds on TA here. :p The night is about friends and stuff for sure, but for $80, there'd better be some decent beats being spunned too :whip: ;) |

speaking of beats, anyone want to guess the set times now? If Tiesto is on mid morning, then we'll prolly get some trance before that, so maybe:
Fabi- Torrence- Second Sun- Tiesto and then Calderone?
I can deal with the lineup but not in that order.. 'prefer to have the trance done with by 2am :p |
