i have been listening to alot of alex kenji,speculum,king roc,oliver giacomotto,wighnomy bros,milton jackson ect ect today...
tomorrow might be carlos fauvrelle,peter bailey...depends on how i feel.
dj's are a bit over rated but i really dig nubreed and mojo sets.
i'm not really a fanboy so i don't stick just to one.
on an unrelated note i found a midget on k who his pants while dancing to minimal and i can't find it on youtube anymore:(

its not so much the dj's as their fans.
tiesto for example...believe it or not i used to like him...there was a time when he was a driving force and was actually pretty good mixing aside(he had a night at le living a few years back that was really ing great)...then he teamed up with sarah maclaughlin(sp?) and made that track that got everyone and their mothers into him.Fanboys and girls were created...these people would support him no matter what he did.Thats what is .They don't listen to anyone else or even try to appreciate the uniqueness of edm....they are in love with the label...not the music.Think of the kid who buys a pair of nikes to be like his friends...they fall apart in 2 months yet he buys nikes again...why?because it is the cool thing to do...not because they are better.After 2002 Tiesto simply stopped trying...he was getting big enough to do whatever he wanted and even put out cd's with sketchy mixing on them.(a ing cd..not a live set...that not only is insulting but ballsy)Do people care?no...because he is tiesto and their god.Do you see what i mean? i could keep going but even after being banned for 2 weeks i don't feel like typing this much.You will understand when it finally reaches the point that every girl you know buys Tiesto brand tampons one day even if the only thing they absorb is their money;)
ps...its fun to bash noobs simply because sometimes it makes them think like you and maybe wonder and look at what we are talking about...expand their knowledge and improve the scene...that or because im simply better than you and its fun:p
and you will say music is subjective...well we are talking dj, not producer..if he can't mix then what makes him so great...i really pray one of you doesn't defend him as a technical genius... slam fading is for hip hop;)Did you know most of the tracks produced by him were actually done by someone else;) get my drift? |
