I just got my mate to go back after she hadnt been there for about 6 years. She was scared...
20 minutes later - total convertee.
Its not that bad. Trust me. I was scared to go there because of the bull people make up. The place has apparantly been cleaned up bigtime.
It is amazing in there. The tunes blow your mind and it is soooo hard to leave. |

| Haha...this place sounds like fun. I'll have to make it a side trip when I head off to TO around spring or so. I was always a lot bigger on the underground scene than the club scene (maybe because I'm a freak). :p |

I disagree, I got the straight dope (no pun intended) from an employee who works there, which also said they were a55holes to begin with. |
O rly? My buddy knows the owner of Comfort Zone and he says that the cheif of police himself takes bribes from the Hells' Angels to keep the place open! That's some crazy yo'!

Two security officers employed with the Comfort Zone Lounge, a bar on the corner of Spadina Avenue and College Street, have been arrested by Toronto police after an 18-year-old woman was allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted. Police say the incident took place early afternoon Sunday, when the two men allegedly befriended the woman and took her to a private area of the bar. The two men are then alleged to have given the woman non-prescription drugs before sexually assaulting her. Charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement in connection with the incident are Oshawa resident Paul Predoi, 26, and Igor Ilicin, 30, of Toronto.

The scenario I described in my last post could certainly be interpreted in a way similar to the bolded text above.
That news article does not support your allegation. |

I don't really care how society views me but I have to say that yes, sat on that patio, only myself and the people I call friends are the ones I would have a conversation with.... Sure, there are some lovely people in this world with open wounds on their legs and one eye rolled into the back of its socket but come on Graham, most of the people on this board are fairly decent and some of the MAJOR sketchbags at the zone are what someone referred to as 'dregs of society'. I personally would be more inclined to use 'of low socio-economic standing'.
I don't think I am wrong in saying that there are 2 distinct crowd types and many differences within each of those types but , I love that dirty, filthy place and the tunes it pumps out! |
I am certainly not implying that the majority of the of Comfort Zone goers are upstanding citizens. In fact, I believe it to be quite the opposite. What I was pointing out was the attitude of people who think that their group of friends are the only non-sketchy people in the entire room.
And as for your comment about 2 distinct groups of people in The Zone, I don't think it's as black and white as that at all. What exactly would these 2 groups be? Sketchy people, and non-sketchy people? I think that's oversimplifying the issue. What classifies someone as sketchy? |

then you should find someone sober to drive.
or move downtown.
Richmond Hill is a long ing way to drive when you are either sleepy, or still high.
Nevermind that CZ serves alcohol too which just compounds the sleep dep/drug effects. |
wow...
I think we all know the wrongs and rights of drink and drugs and driving... |

Ummmm I think not! And even if they did...people still do it, so what Sarah said isn't out of line.

when u come out in the morning and you are feeling semi-normal i think its ok to drive... i mean if there is someone sober sure ill let them but if there isnt then wat can you do |

How are you semi-normal if you have been awake for 24+ hours? there is absolutely nothing normal about that! |
Not to mention...if we were all aware of the dangers of drinking or doing drugs and driving...then why are there still accidents involving such? You can't tell me that out of the hundreds of people on this forum, no one has been in an accident related to that or at least known someone who has. |

i am sure that at least 60% of the people on this board drive after guvi.. specialy if they dont live downtown
all those parking lots full of cars, the cars get home somehow
and lets not forget all the cars at cherry beach sunday mornings.. they didnt drive there them selves, and cops come all the time and its no problem...
people take responsiblity when they drive after a party and if u are not capable of driving then dont, but if someone else is that doesnt make it bad |

I'm not trying to pick on you, but Sarah made a good point when she asked how are you "semi-normal" when being up for 24hrs...be it on booze, drugs or stone sober. And someone was trying to roll their eyes at her saying that people know the dangers of that, so Sarah shouldn't have posted that. Well even if people know the dangers of something, it doesn't stop them from doing things. I see nothing wrong with what Sarah posted.
I don't know you, so I don't know how capable you are of driving, or your friends are after parties...but a lot of people are not capable and do it anyway. They just get lucky if they don't get hurt. People may think they're taking responsibility b/c they think they are fine to drive...but like I said...a lot of times it's just luck. Think about all the drunk drivers that thought they were taking responsibility b/c they thought they were capable of driving and ended up hurting someone. |

| im not saying that driving totaly gone is a good thing... but after when already yourself and you have to get home somehow someone drives, because takign a 60$ cab is a little to much, specialy if its there and back 60$ each way |
