| Some posts in this thread have reminded me how I find it comical that a lot of people who rarely go to The Zone think that every other person in the place but them and their friends are the dregs of society. What makes you so special? You're just perpetuating the stereotype of society that anyone who does drugs are undesireables. News flash: you've also been to The Zone, so guess how society views you. |

| I think they should put a pyramid out on the zone patio... how crazy would that be! |

I think anyone who lives in that area, or anyone who walks around Spadina & College on Sundays has a pretty good idea what goes on behind that door on the north west corner. |

You say this as if it's fact, which it's not. No one really knows what happened, but I looked into this case, and what it seems like happened was the bouncer offered the girl drugs and said "come to the back room with me". Later, the girl cries rape. Yes, this is unprofessional and sketchy and the bouncer should have been fired, but if this is indeed what happend, I don't exactly call this rape, I call this stupidity on the part of the girl.
Second of all, I think you just tagged that "while she was G'ing out" part on the end for dramatic effect. Out of all the news stories I've read about it, it was written that an 18 year old girl alleged that a bouncer at the Comfort Zone raped her. I never read anything about it happening while she was G'ing out. |
I disagree, I got the straight dope (no pun intended) from an employee who works there, which also said they were a55holes to begin with.
Here's the article;

Two security officers employed with the Comfort Zone Lounge, a bar on the corner of Spadina Avenue and College Street, have been arrested by Toronto police after an 18-year-old woman was allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted. Police say the incident took place early afternoon Sunday, when the two men allegedly befriended the woman and took her to a private area of the bar. The two men are then alleged to have given the woman non-prescription drugs before sexually assaulting her. Charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement in connection with the incident are Oshawa resident Paul Predoi, 26, and Igor Ilicin, 30, of Toronto.

Hahahah remember the first time you went with me, and you and Ali met up with Josh and I before Scumfrog right outside? You were like "what the am I getting myself into?!"
All of us had went to bed early the night before and just got up really early to go! When a headliner is on at CZ...IMO that's the best way to go! Stay home on Saturday night and save your energy to get up bright and early on Sunday and rock it out at the Zone!
I think if you can mentally get past all the rumors and bad things you hear about that Zone and check it out...n00bs will be fine. It's really not as bad as people say it is. It's just a bit dark. And now it's not EVEN that dark. Most sketchbags there are harmless. Just get a good crew with you so you feel comfortable.

Mind you I've been there only once but it was love at first sight! :crazy: And yes as Jon said there is something very special about the way the music sounds there. The sound there has more powerful impact on me than any other place I've been too.
